A nice dinner with friends for a stay over. Third time visiting here and on this occasion the service wasn’t as great and there was also a bit of an argument between a customer and a staff member near us which could have been taken to one side. Food was great but cocktail was 6/10 as the alcohol tasted cheap.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Melis, a Turkish restaurant with a delightful ambiance that truly transports you to Turkey . While the food may not have blown me away, the overall experience was enjoyable.
Let's start with the ambiance. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior design beautifully showcased Turkish culture, with intricate decorations, soft lighting, and comfortable seating arrangements. It was the perfect setting for a relaxed and intimate dining experience.
The service at Malis was impeccable. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist.
Now, let's talk about the food. While it didn't quite reach the heights of greatness, it was still enjoyable. The menu offered a decent variety of Turkish dishes, and the presentation was appealing. Some dishes stood out more than others. The appetizers, such as the hummus were flavorful and well-prepared. For main course we ordered sharing platter and prawn curry… we like the prawn and platter was decent, however didn't have that wow factor I was hoping for. The flavors were pleasant but lacked the boldness and complexity I've experienced in other Turkish restaurants.
While the food may not have blown me away, I would still recommend Melis for a charming evening out or a casual gathering with friends.
Food was nice, restaurant was clean and had good vibe, staff were very accomodating and helpful.
The food however was pricey! Been to many Turkish places where we've been offered complimentary Turkish Tea etc especially when having spent over £130 - not here.
Only 4 stars because of price.. Overall nice experiance.

Excellent food, delicious and cooked perfectly. Very good atmosphere and the waitress was friendly and looked after us well.
This is my second time at Melis. The first time we sat inside and this time we sat outside.
The food is soo good and it's the reason why we came here again. We also loved the bread they served before the meal.

We visited a theme park in Milton Keynes and decided to come here to eat after reading all the rave reviews, so glad we did! We didn't have a reservation and it was a Bank Holiday but we were seated straight away luckily. Delicious food, we enjoyed everything we ordered, also received complimentary bread with dips whilst we waited for our food. Excellent service by all staff, especially 1 young waitress who made my daughter feel so welcome. Highly recommend.
Smells amazing as you arrive. Good service, extensive menu. Starters aren't huge, but lots of lovely bread. Delicious main course. Not cheap, but good value, cocktails very nice.
Food was very nice. We loved it. Mainly lamb shish. My partner does not like lamb but he liked it here because the lamb shish was just so tender meat. Loved it. The starters that came with the sharing platter was not the best choice of food. The paste like starter is not something you can eat a lot, atleast not for us. We could use some with bread but that is all.
Staff were very polite and nice. My one suggestion is change your payment card so customers can tip with card payments too. Not many carry cash nowadays.
There were 9 of us to cater for and they did a brilliant job. Kids eating half price is always fab and also complimentary bread (the bread was homemade and moreish) is a nice touch. We were all super happy with our meals, the portion sizes, the cocktails were incredible. I thought we were taken care of really well by our waiter and everyone was polite/welcoming. This was my first time here and what a pleasant experience especially for large families.

Great food as always, Melis has been a family favourite for many years. This is definitely one of the best Turkish restaurants in MK, and a must visit!
From the entry the staff were really welcoming and professional and they kinda suggested few seats to us which were great and we had a great seat with great view. Then we waited about 10 minutes for the food to be made and the wait was worth it. A new dish I have never tasted before and it was amazing. In general I give it a 8/10 . Would definitely recommend and definitely come back.
Really tasty food and service is friendly and quick. The hummus and lahmacun were both outstanding, super tasty and spices on point. Lamb dish also really tasty - again the spices are incredible and the lamb was super tender. Best way to enjoy Melis is to order a bunch of things for the table and share
Went to dinner here with my family. The food was good and plentiful. The portion sizes were good and the overall ambience was lovely. We were a little bit late getting there so the thoughtful little touches were gone in favour of closing time, but the food was tasty, the Sheesha was fragrant and the cost was affordable
