Visited on the off chance whilst on holiday and what a fabulous find! Service was amazing, young lad was super efficient and helpful. Food was superb! I had the steak and ale pie, my husband had the Blue Anchor burger. The pie was delicious, plenty of gravy, smooth creamy mash and lovely sweet carrots. Husband says burger was delicious with home made chips. Great location, food and service, what more could you want. Also dog friendly!

Don't let the view from the road put you off, one of the best meals we have had whilst dinning out. Staff are fantastic, willing to help and always with a friendly smile. A family run business with food to the highest standards, my wife is a chef and very difficult to impress. Booking a table is recommended as all the tables were reserved from the time we arrived to when we left. Pet friendly, with a good sized garden where you can have food served to if you prefer to eat outside. With free parking all along Blue Anchor beach front it's a perfect day out.... 😁👍

Nice food, my batter on fish and chips was a little burnt underneath and was extremely understaffed. They had a young girl running around taking orders, greeting customers, seating customers, delivering food and table service. A second person appeared out of the toilets after about 20 minutes but then disappeared into the other area and was not seen again. Food was nice though but you definitely need to book as the place was packed. Note to owners if they read, not sure if you had a staffing issue but the one young girl (who was exemplary) was not enough.

Great pub meal, great price, lovely location, a local recommended us to have a meal here and we weren't disappointed, this is definitely a don't judge a book by it's cover pub, through the sliding door, down the steps in to a lovely old pub.

We had Pork T bone which was enormous and Gammon. The meals were well cooked and reasonably priced as we're the drinks. It was Saturday night so was quite busy but the service was very polite and attentive.

We found that we could stay here over night with the campervan. We had an amazing meal. This is what I call a wonderful traditional Inn, the staff and locals were so welcoming and friendly. Very quick to include us as their own locals too. Had such a fun time with them. This is exactly how pubs should be!! To those at the Smugglers Inn, don't change the Inn or yourselves for anything or anyone, winning combination and we will definitely be returning! Thank you for allowing us to stay in our campervan!

Great food that's well worth the price. Enjoyed 2 courses with family whilst on holiday and we were all very impressed by the quality of our meals. Would visit again if staying nearby in future.

We had Sunday Roast. Three meat choices. Turkey, Beef and Gammon. The meal arrive quickly. The plate held plenty of meat. Three lovely roast potatoes, a scoop of mash, roast parsnip, plenty of gravy and the biggest Yorkshire pudding I’ve seen on a roast dinner. Three vegetable dishes arrived with cauliflower cheese, broccoli, small carrots and diced swede. It was all beautifully cooked and piping hot. Dessert was Eton mess packed with sliced strawberries. A crème brûlée and I chose coconut rice pudding with mango sorbet. This was delicious. All in all our visit was delightful. The building is old and a bit tired but the restaurant had new furniture and old flagstone floor was original. We took our dog and there were plenty of other dog owners there. Very friendly welcome and service was great
