The Swan Inn

We were visiting the area for an event nearby and stayed at The Swan for one night in their triple room with our toddler. Julie and Stephen were so welcoming and the room was immaculate. Lovely bed linen, attention to detail, new bathroom and high-quality toiletries. The space had been used really well and had been sensitively modernised while preserving the character of this historic building. We received a text beforehand with useful info and were greeted warmly when we arrived. There were lots of thoughtful touches that we really appreciate, and they were so kind to our little one. We enjoyed a drink in the bar before heading off and woke up to a really excellent breakfast the next day. I had the vegetarian breakfast and my husband the full English. They had even laid out a highchair and child-sized cutlery for our little one, and were only too happy to bring a cup of milk and a toddler-appropriate full English! It was really kind and thoughtful. We felt so well looked after and I've not had a veggie sausage that good in a long time (the meat ones were apparently excellent too!). Little touches like extra biscuits in the room for our little one, and a relax atmosphere while he toddled around were really appreciated. Highly recommend if you're looking for a calm base to explore the local area.

I understand this is place is under new ownership. Owners Steve and Julie super friendly and very helpful.Stayed 1 night and when we are back in this area we will hope to stay again. We found this place to be charming and very inviting. I had the good fortune to watch a football match with the owners and some of the locals in the bar. The breakast was amazing, having not been back to England for several years we looked forward to a "full English" and were not disappointed. If you want to experience genuine English hospitality in a picturesque country village this is the place. All I can say is if you are looking for a place to stay in this part of the country and there is avalability at The Swan Inn, book it!

The Swan is a beautiful pub in the village of Monks Eleigh. I understand that it now has a new landlady who was very friendly and chatty. The inside is beautiful woodwork and carpentry and there is plenty of outside seating with large umbrellas to protect from the very hot sunshine. I'd love to go back to sample the food. I was unaware that there were rooms available to stay.

Went to The Swan for afternoon tea. The venue did not disappoint, the village of Lavenham is lovely as is The Swan. Staff was attentive and kind. While the food was lovely, I have to say the actual tea was a bit of a disappointment as it was just Twinings tea. We really would have expected loose leaf tea for the venue and price paid. Otherwise we found the overall experience quite nice and I would definitely return to the Swan for the food.

had a lovely meal today at this special pub. during the war my gran and grandad used to run this pub so it is very special to me. my husband and myself enjoyed the meal very much and julie really look after the customers really well. the food was all fresh and homemade. i had my favourite toad in the hole and my husband had steak and ale pie. will be going again .

Excellent Sunday lunch in perfect sunny spot. We were booked to sit inside but decided to make the most of the sunshine - especially liked that half the outdoor sitting is non-smoking. Roast beef was great and nut roast very tasty. Little one decided on a burger - wow - we hoped she would leave some for us! So good to find a pub that puts as much effort into the childrens menu as they did the adults. The inside is surprisingly spacious so don't be put off if it looks busy. Excellent service - we'll definitely be back when in the area.
