Review The Farmers Arms - Muker

Rachel Shuttleworth
We had a fabulous meal and plenty of wine in the sunshine. Great service and great food. A traditional local pub in a beautiful village setting.

Lovely little pub located in Muker in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales ...Probably more a gastro pub than a traditional public house but none the less full of charm and serves very good food indeed at very reasonable prices. Local beers on tap . Landlord and landlady very welcoming . Booking advised to avoid disappointment if it's food you are after .

What a great pub, even for vegans! They have gone to a lot of effort to ensure they have great vegan options - I had a fully vegan roast dinner, complete with yorkshire puddings! They also had vegan fish & chips, and other options too. I appreciate it a lot. The other members of the part who ate meat greatly enjoyed their meals too.

Wonderful little pub with nice, homemade food and local beer.

Went for Sunday Lunch. Food was lovely, desserts of sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble where just as good. It seemed very busy and with only three staff working (chef, barman and waitress) the service was very good and efficient. Will be back.

Had a very nice meal and luckily before pub was closed again for Tier 3 restrictions. We had lamb kebabs and cheesy skins for starters and braised beef and steak and Ale pie for mains. All were very tasty. The real ale from the owners brewery was also good.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere, even better food! This picture doesn’t quite do the food the justice it deserves! 10/10 for the roast filled giant Yorkshire.

Nice, friendly place with good beer. Shame the chef was off as I was starving. Had to make do with three bags of crisps.

Very popular pub with a really good range of beers - including some brewed for the pub. When we visited the range of cask beer was excellent and the quality was very good. Very large menu for food - including vegetarian, vegan, and other diets. Stay on the right side of the very efficient staff and you'll have a great experience.

Great place for food and a drink. Especially after the lovely loop walk. Mucker to Keld absolutely brilliant 👍

A group of us (loud, over excited, 30-somethings) booked in for lunch following a long hike. We were placed in the 'snug' to the left of the bar, which was nice and cosy. The staff were very polite and welcoming, and very patient with us as we made our way through a barrel of Leeds Pale. The food was excellent and very well priced. I had the braised steak, which was cooked to perfection. A really lovely experience.

I’ll never understand the negative reviews, the bloke who owns it is a top guy, really looked after us. We had an incredible dinner, followed by drinks and then came back on the Sunday for an amazing Sunday dinner. Absolutely recommend to anybody passing through or staying nearby.

Excellent food, beer, service and hospitality. The pub's sway towards being a food serving establishment means it's lost some of its traditional pub atmosphere. However, it's still a great place to have food and drinks after a day hiking.

We stopped for a quick drink after a lovely walk. It's nice little pub, the beer, in particular, was fantastic! The only thing I'd say is that they don't let children in the pub unless they are in a very small "family" room. When we visited the room was full and we were told to sit outside, and wouldn't be allowed in even if it rained.l, which it did.

Went for Sunday lunch with my family, first of all can I say the barman was a star, he was on his own but the service was second to none, he was a a really friendly guy nothing was to much for him. The Sunday roast ( Beef ) was superb compliments to the chef who was working on their own we later found out. Please go there for fab food you won’t be disappointed. Thank you so much for a great afternoon.

Booked ahead as we were camping in the area. Food, service and welcome were excellent. Rachel , who served us, was very polite and attentive. Really good choice from the menu plus a specials board. Plus local brews as well as the standard selection of beers. Quality and quantity of our meals was spot on. No hesitation in coming again next time we're in the area.

A real gem of a pub. Very little parking, but plenty on the roadside. We had Sunday lunch here and it was excellent. It was possible to sit inside or out. The staff were friendly and the food freshly cooked so that took a little time, but not too long and we weren’t in a hurry anyway. A good selection of drinks at the bar, including gins and local beers. Toilets were clean. Definitely recommended.

This is the place to be for a good pint and companionship (no Wi Fi or phone reception.) The staff are exceptional;ly friendly and the location is heavenly. If, like me, you like birds and wildlife, sit outside and watch the woodcocks, swallows, swifts and martins at dusk and then wait for the bats before staggering back to your tent at Usha Gap with a carry-out of Old Peculiar.

Lovely friendly little pub, called in after an unexpectedly long walk- had a Brie and cranberry panini and chips- was spot on!

On the plus side Great food Good Beer and reasonable prices. Friendly staff. A real country pub with real fittings and real fires, non of the fake rubbish you see in so many pubs these days. And all in beautiful scenery. On the negative side Errrr nope can't think of anything. The Farmers Arms is definately on our go again list :)
