Best pub food i've had for ages. The barbequed pulled pork was something else, and one portion was enough for two. Good range of beers, in a nice friendly environment.
Thought was a tad expensive, but well worth paying for the quality and quantity.
Please keep up the high standards.
Had a really great meal with my good pal Jill Jackson - the pub has lots of little snug areas where you can eat and talk intimately- small well behaved dog friendly too which to me is a bonus . Lovely log fire at front of house - charming barman - great food ! I had a perfectly cooked steak with all the trimmings - Jill Jackson went for the roast which came with separately served selection of vegetables - we shared a sticky toffee pudding - lashings of custard - with two drinks the bill was £30 - great value and such a fab pub . A real community asset too x
Nipped in for a spot of lunch after over a 20+ year absence. What a change to the old place! Great food, cracking outdoor area by the side of the river and really friendly staff Try the hot beef sarnie if you are hungry. Worth a visit
Recently under new ownership the Shoulder of Mutton offers nice food and four real ales from brewers in Yorkshire, Lancashire, London and Devon.
The only downside was fairly poor customer service from the young bar staff, had to repeat three times my food order and after a wait of 35 minutes we were told a table of 18 had ordered food, hence the delay, would have been nice to know that at the point of ordering.
Came here for a work leaving event. Beautiful food, and amazingly quick service. Staff were incredibly cheerful and friendly. We also got a nice surprise as a band was practicing some of their songs while we were there. The place was a bit quiet, so the atmosphere could have been better.
Enjoyed our cooked breakfast today, friendly attentive staff, lovely hot tasty quality food served and lovely strong coffee. Dog friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend and we will definitely be back.
1st time visiting as staying for a couple of nights.
Sat outside over looking the river until it rained. Moved inside and ordered food.
Both areas very comfortable and food was delicious. Hot beef sandwich with hand cut chips n onion gravy. Well worth the visit.
Great local bar, good menu available. A great beer garden next to the river.
Old world pub with great outdoor space. But only bench seats which didn't suit my parents, both 90+ , indoor was steps and a long walk to a table so we had a drink and left.
Stop on way to camping site for a meal and a drink .Food was lovely . good choice and well priced .

Good pub, great food at a reasonable price, good that the chef came and asked if we enjoyed our meal.
We went in for the football and although some wanted to change game, as we were on holiday, they relented and, we watched the famous win.
