We’ve eaten in Michelin star and chef restaurants globally and we were really impressed with the quality, creativity and execution of the dishes. We randomly walked by Saturday afternoon and called to book in for the evening and were so happy we did. We felt it was an extremely fair price point (even maybe a bargain) given the quality, and compared to everything else we’ve eaten in NZ. Thank you so much to the chef and his team!

Best high-end dining in Nelson. Period. So many delicious courses, all unique, fresh and executed to perfection. Unlike anything you would make at home. A true chefs choice experience with so many flavors and textures in every bite. Truly divine. Thank you

Absolutely amazing food as always. Best restaurant I've ever been to - the service is impeccable and the chefs an absolute artist with the attention to detail. Although it may seem pricey - the degustation menu is actually an absolute steal considering the items and effort it takes them to make. Very small restaurant and doesn't seat many - which adds to the ambience of it They also do amazing vegan/vegetarianmenu and cater to dietary restrictions if you require. I'll definitely be going back!!

Intimate dining room means the ambience is more peaceful than most restaurants. Food is exquisitely presented and is delicious. Most unique dish is the tallow candle that you dip bread into. After multiple courses you arr always full! We did a valentine's set menu and absolutely loved it. The chef truly loves his craft and is so humble. This business is a great addition to Nelson!

We came to Le Plonc for our 10 year wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint! It was the best dining experience we have ever had, every course got better and better, was so beautifully presented and the tastes were incredible! The staff were amazing too. Would highly recommend this to anyone and have told all our friends to go - can't wait for the change of menu so we can go back again!

We've been to a lot of fine dining places and this is 100% the best restaurant we have had the privilege of trying. Service was exceptional, atmosphere and decor elegant and inviting and the food!! The food was so delicious we found ourselves making unintention noises as we ate everymeal and somehow it was all we could talk about while waiting for the next course. The food has so much depth and flavor, I doubt I'll ever forget this experience in my life. We've already made plans to return. It is well worth the price. First class.

A new restaurant opened in August, small, 20 seats or so, open kitchen. Reservations needed. Food and flavour combinations were inventive and meticulous. Plating was immaculate and elegant. Service during visit was charming and simpatico. Everything was perfectly executed. Michelin-starred cuisine, without pretension. Off the beaten track, and definitely worth the visit. They definitely are on the right track if they can improve their reservation system. The experience of dining at Le Plonc starts the moment when we engage. There are tons of booking systems out there. Someone please enlighten them to find a better one. We didn’t receive confirmation or cancellation for our reservation until we arrived there. Our table was booked by another party at the same time. We waited 40 minutes for another table to become available. Their amazing food deserves better admin support. Visited on Friday, 13/08
