Such a beautiful place with a nice atmosphere to visit for a drink in the bar, or a meal in the restaurant upstairs, overlooking the harbour. Staff were all inviting and friendly.
I ordered off the specials menu, Whole Plaice (£20), but unfortunately they missed off the asparagus which was disappointing due to the meals being on the pricey side. And I only had the chance to tell them this after the meal had been eaten. However they did offer £2.00 off the bill to apologise…
My partner ordered the Rump Steak (£25) which he loved, cooked perfectly to his preference.
The lemon meringue pie (£7) was nice, however found that the flavour was overpowered by the mango sauce that covered the entire plate. So made it impossible to taste the pie itself…
Good place for a cocktail, (they have a happy hour 5-6pm) a bit of cake and a meal, but expect to pay a bit more money!
Overall 4/5.
Managed to get a seat outside in the sun for lunch yesterday. The food was delicious - we had sardines on toast, salt and pepper squid and the children's pasta - all cooked and presented beautifully. Wine and beer both ice cold. The service was amazing from everybody - the manager through to the younger staff. We will definitely be going there again soon.
I've been meaning to leave this review for a while. Our family (2 adults, 3 kids - 8,4 &1) visited for lunch just before the end of service, I didn't expect to get to eat but they accommodated us no problems and even though we were the last eating at no point were we rushed, the whole staff were great. The food was tremendous, the best meal we had on our holiday and a great selection of drinks too. We had a fantastic experience there, great food and drink, lovely views and a friendly atmosphere and service to go with it. Visited on 14/04/23
Lovely place .Had a drink downstairs first then went upstairs to the restaurant. Food lovely ,Staff great especially Julie .Couldn't do enough .Best meal in a long time 😋😋
The only reason didn't give 5 stars for atmosphere as it was quite quiet so couldn't really say.
The food was delicious and our waitress Nicola was very helpful.
It was my fiance's birthday and when they brought out the dessert it had happy birthday written on it which was a lovely gesture and much appreciated 😊
Would definitely recommend
Thanks again
Julie and Michael
We stayed nearby for a three night stay as we were walking the coast path. We had lunch one day and we were so impressed by the menu, food (coeliac options) and we it’s pet friendly downstairs so we decided to go there for dinner the next night
We didn’t realise that food wasn’t served downstairs in the evening however the owners/managers were very flexible and let us eat in the downstairs area to accommodate us and our dog. We hadn’t booked and they were super busy but they kept us informed at all times about the estimated waiting time
Excellent menu and food. The flavours are tasty and well presented - the portions are good and not overwhelming.
Great dessert choice with options for coeliacs and vegans
On our last day we had coffee and cakes (walking through Newquay on the coast path)
Lovely restaurant- very highly recommended
Thanks to the owner for being so flexible and helpful.
Great service and staff, plus prices given the location were very reasonable. Stone baked pizza off the kids meal was enough to feed a hungry adult. The fish dishes the adults had were excellent too. Waitress (didnt catch name but had very fine line work on her butterfly tattoos) was really good and friendly too.
Fantastic meal (again) in a wonderful establishment and setting. My wife and I enjoyed all courses of her birthday meal out. Having been notified of the special occasion, a table was reserved at a balcony looking into the harbour. Brilliant. I enjoyed the plump, fresh sardines whilst my wife caught a veritable shoal if whitebait. 18 of them! They are not skimpy with portions here. Substantial and flavoursome main courses followed. I thought my smoked salmon and aubergine linguine was knock-out (lots of succulent slabs of salmon) but the pollock (big fillet) and prawn (loads of juicy ones) curry was stunning (with a bunch of samphire and the most exquisite coconut flavour). Having shared a morsel of her naan bread, she narrowly failed to empty the rice bowl. Home made lemon maringue and chocolate and walnut brownie (just like brownies should be) were accompanied by Mario's vanilla ice cream. The superb meal was celebrated by excellent coffees: latte and flat white. And all for £70! Shhh .... don't tell anyone. Lets keep this gem to ourselves. 😊
Amazing, after an awful morning trying to find somewhere for breakfast, the team at The Bluebell went above and beyond. We arrived to a friendly, polite and relaxed atmosphere. They accommodated us and squeezed us in for a late breakfast (which we massively appreciated). The staff were second to none and the food was outstanding. Hats off and a massive thank you from us for the service, it's rare these days to find such amazing places. Well deserved 5*. It's a must to visit this place!!!
We had an absolutely lovely meal here. For starter I had dough balls with smokey chorizo mayo, for main the lamb and for pud the spicy toffee apple tart with custard. Everything was top notch. We've also visited for coffee a couple of times - the coffee/hot chocs have been nice, and as for the location, you can't get much better!
*To add: the service was great & friendly. With the extra precautions for Covid, we felt very welcome, comfortable and safe.
The best cocktails, beautiful food and amazing service
Very nice , super helpful and smiley service . Good food and very reasonable pricing .
Just really lovely food, great views over the harbour, great service. Pretty much the perfect lunch. Will definitely come again when next in the area.
Fantastic meal in a brilliant location with stunning see and coastal views. Well worth a visit. Brilliant way to start our weekend away. Will be back for sure!!
Went here one evening last week with my wife and so glad we did. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and very professional. The fillet steak I had was one of the best I'd ever tasted and was pleased to find out that it came from local stock.
We will visit New Quay again next year and will definitely be eating here.
Many thanks.
Very good food, plentiful and tasty. Quality/price-excellent.
I would highly recommend this place.
