So service is pretty good actually, very quick, food came out very quickly too. Food was hot and nice as expected, the downside was as feedback could you add more vegetable types to the pie and chips, maybe carrots as well, one type is not that great, the gravy seemed a little thin also. The pigs in blankets are amazing! Great pub to dine in with the family, recommended place to eat

We had such a lovely evening with our neighbours. The staff we so friendly, helpful and fun and the food was so delicious. At the end of the evening we booked for 25 people to come back on December 3rd. We have just moved to Swindon after 16 years in France and it's so lovely to have a special local we can walk to, thank you.

Great place and wonderful staff. We initially stopped as we needed to charge our EV (they have two Osprey chargers which are great here) but we realised that they had a great menu and also gluten free options too. We had a great lunch meal and my kids really enjoyed their kids burger and chips meals.

It's what I call a fun pub, a Marston's chain. Staff were fabulous, atmosphere OK. Food was good, just portion size, although did order from the lighter bites, but it is very lighter compared to some other establishments. So, slightly my fault. Still enough here to recommend.

Lunch here with colleagues after visiting a client in the area. Excellent value food - £8.75 for a substantial Philly Steak Baguette with chips. Pepsi Max at £3.80 a pint felt less generous, although I may be out of touch with pub prices

My husband and I decided to come for dinner, after my father in law said how great The Tawny Owl was. They didn't disappoint. The staff were efficient and lovely, the food was delicious and there was a lovely warm feel about it. We will be back.

We needed to charge our EV so popped in for lunch at the same time. Very dog friendly, we could sit inside with our beagle. There was water available and dog biscuits, and a menu for the dog too! Food for people very good as well.

Restaurant was clean and calm. Staff were friendly and helpful. Signage to toilets was clear. Table tops were quite sticky and lattes were more like white americanos but otherwise a pleasant experience.

First visit with friends for lunch. Quiet when we arrived but soon filled up. Good menu & even though it got busy the service was brilliant - nice location just out of town- easy to.find - easy to park - will visit again.

Visited for lunch earlier today, don't think I'll need any tea tonight 🤣 had surf and turf portion size was generous and the steak was cooked to perfection! Wasn't going to have pudding as I was full but I forced myself as I can't pass up on a sticky toffee pudding 😍. Now I've woke up from my food coma, felt like I had to leave a review as the service from Pam was amazing she's a credit to The Tawny Owl. We will be back again soon when over Newark/Balderton way visiting family think we've now found a new favourite pub to visit as our last visit to Lord Ted isn't a patch on today's.

Hadn’t booked this time although usually do. Plenty of seats. Was seated straight away by a staff member. Menus on the table. Got drinks straight away and took food order on her return. Staff very pleasant. Food was good. Hot and cooked just right. Desert always need more custard and had to wait slightly longer than I would have expected.

Had a lovely family meal at Tawny Owl (June 2023), also a few drinks.. fairly quiet night, service both at the bar and table was efficient. Food served relatively quickly and hot. Sadly didn't get name of waitress on the night but she was pleasant and friendly, especially to the kids. Lady behind the bar, Charlotte if I remember rightly, made us feel very welcome when we arrived, also good knowledge of the wine. Thanks for a great evening. Louise F.

A lively atmosphere and friendly staff. We were a large party but the staff dealt with us professionally and efficently. All the food ordered was good and served hot. Our booking was for 8pm and at 8.10pm we were advised we needed to order food by 8.30pm at the latest which I was not made aware of at time of booking. However we were not rushed and able to order desserts after our main meal but maybe a good idea to advise customers of the cut off time for ordering.

We had a relaxing meal this evening. We were served by Jodie she was very friendly, ensured we were looked after and recommended desserts for us which we really enjoyed. We will definitely be back soon and hopefully will be looked after again by Jodie.
