As we were meeting people for the day (Newark halfway between Boston and Mansfield) called in here for lunch as convenient and expectation not high. How wrong we were! Excellent service - all staff really friendly and helpful- good range on menu - all had something different and all enjoyed choice. Well done to all involved-will be back

Brilliant location near the Newark Castle with parking for £1 just behind the restaurant next to the Castle Barge. Brilliant decor. Nice clean restaurant. Lively and busy, which is good for a restaurant and to enioy being amongst lots of people but not too many. Meals were lush, waitress was funny and really helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed. See photos which includes Caramelised Garlic Bread, which was nice. Only improvements could be a meal deal, NHS discount or 2 for 1 on cocktails (that would have made the night), but also the toilets are known for being a mosquito den (probably because dark and so close to the river). Other than that would highly recommend and will be back when next in Newark hopefully. Not a cheap family meal but worth it. X

Couldn't fault the food. Had a long wait for the starter - 30 mins+ but waitress apologised, said our order ticket had been missed and offered us a complimentary drink each so in the end good customer service. Was worth the wait. Room was a bit noisy with two annoying kids running around between every course but staff pleasant and efficient. Just don't understand why they sit you right between 2 other couples when there are several empty tables in other parts of the room?
