Resonable price for great food and service. Far from skimpy on the food portion, might need to take a doggy bag home. We have been quite a few times and never been disappointed. Dog friendly too, a big plus for that.
Went there to have a drink and watch 'Flying Scotsman' pass. On arrival the landlady offered us free tea and coffee while waiting for the train to pass. Not many do that this day and age. A nice gesture. Well done. Will have a meal there in the near future.
Great value for money great food fresh fish and amazing sweets friendly and helpful staff will be back to try sunday lunches
Not been here for ages but decided to go on a recommendation about the fish and chips on a Friday night, did not disappoint
Great food very welcoming, will be back to try the Sunday carvery..😋
Best Sunday carvery I’ve ever had. It gets super busy so get in early. Good beers, homely atmosphere and the staff are really nice too.
Well worth a visit, we were staying at near by camp site and popped out for as bite to eat. Really friendly atmosphere, the food was great and very reasonably priced. Right next to the railway line, which was cool watching the trains go past.
Dined in the Inn with a couple of friends. The food was very good and tasty, lots of it too! Very friendly place. I'm sure this would be a lovely summer evening place to sit outside and train spot!
We recently held our wedding reception at The Great Northern Inn. The pub was closed in the evening for our exclusive use and staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. We welcomed the helpful suggestions that allowed our evening to flow effortlessly. The buffet was also amazing. Thank
Great service, and the fish and chips were very nice.
What a find! Not only is it a lovely walk from Caunton, you get a lovely local Plum Porter and not so local Italian Panini. Staff were great and really friendly, we'll most definitely be walking back here
6 out of 5 stars. ✨✨✨✨✨✨ Staff could not be more helpful, food is out of this world, and the beer was cold and plentiful. Stayed overnight in the car park in our motorhome free of charge. A perfect experience.
Stayed here overnight with 2 small grandchildren (and a small dog) in our motorhome. We didn't need ehu, so we were allowed to stay over for free. We were made very welcome. We were joined by 2 other members of family and had drinks in the afternoon and then 4 of us called later for meals. The chi
Great place, our little granddaughter loves going here so she can play on the slide and watch the trains go by while we have a drink. Delicious home cooked food too, lovely family pub.
Went for Sunday lunch really tasty food and not to expensive
Great food, a bit out of way. But well worth it. Burgers are huge!
We just called in on the way down to our son's for the bank holiday weekend, the service was very quick and friendly and the food was excellent, portion size was very good so much so we couldn't eat it all, will definitely be one we go back to when visiting our son and daughter in law
The place looks a little run down but we were greeted very warmly and given permission to stay in our motor home in their car park overnight. Although right next to the train track there were no trains from about 10.30 until almost 9am to disturb us.. very quiet. We ate good Grimsby fish ,
Absolutely wonderful burger and chips.
Great friendly service, reasonably priced.
Well worth a visit.
All that and watching the great northern line trains wizzing past makes for an enjoyable evening.
Cannot believe this place had empty tables. Professional friendly staff. Amazing quality of food (and amount).
