Finally got a reservation for my birthday meal and Henry & Jo's exceeded my expectations. The food was truly delicious each course provided a new and interesting experience and made for good conversation points. My Husband has a shellfish allergy which was immediately accomendated and his course adjusted which was greatly appreciated. I have read some negative comments about the service for me personally being served by someone so passionate about what they do was so welcomed and refreshing this level of attentiveness really elevated our experience. I would definitely recommend and I hope to get another coveted reservation soon.
What an absolutely fabulous experience. My partner and I visited Henry & Joes for the first time on a Friday evening to celebrate us buying a new house in the area.
Joe is a truly wonderful host - greeting us by name, explaining the dishes and generally being a lovely bloke!
The food - just wow. Henry is so talented and his passion for his craft is so apparent in each and every dish that was served.
We loved our experience there so much we are already planning on making a return visit as soon as we can.

Second visit, this time for my Nanna's 91st birthday. Joe, as ever, made us all feel like the most important people in the town and my Nanna said she'd had the best birthday and enjoyed every course!

I've eaten in almost every restaurant in and around Newbury and for me Henry and Joes is the best overall experience every time. Not only will you get great food but Joe is one of the best and most attentive hosts I've ever had the pleasure of being dined by.

The whole experience was magnificent: from making a reservation, being greeted by name when entering the restaurant… throughout the entire meal.
Joe is very attentive, making sure we were comfortable and understood the menu. Great recommendations.
Henry is a master on his craft. The food was delicious. Amazing presentation, serving temperature, textures and flavors.
Bonus points to the amazing bread. Quite a nice surprise! Loved the butter!
The whole experience does take some time, so can be hard to make it during a 1-hour lunch break.
