Tasty Chinese takeaway. Really enjoyed the crispy duck. But the fish and chips are even better! Huge piece of cod! Tastiest chips I've had in ages. Terrific curry sauce as well. Definitely our new go to when we visit.

Nice convenient location just outside the center of Newbury. Parking isn't so bad. Few spots outside the front, or nice and easy roadside parking. The staff are friendly enough. The place appears clean and tidy. The food Is a reasonable price and of reasonable quality.
Haven't had Howan since they closed down their wonderful dine in restaurant further down the road.....thought to give it another try and very happy that food is better, the beef noodles with sauce is good, the Singapore fried rice was a hit with the kids..they were also very understanding when I made a mistake with an order. Crispy Lamb is delicious and a very generous portion. Can't wait to try their other specials!
FEB 2023 - haven't had in a while and tonight was the best Stir Fried noodles we had ...authentic Chinese restaurant level and could taste the wok hei ...really impressed 👏 everything else was also good but the noodles surprised us in a very good way
Who doesn't like fish and chips? People who are wrong, that's who. And this chippy is good. Word to the wise, though... "large" on the menu should read "huge".

I usually share a small chips with my daughter and we have a cod bite each. More than enough for dinner!
