Fantastic craft beer and Tex-mex pub in centre of Newbury nearly opposite Corn Exchange. Great selection of local beers on tap plus a massive beer fridge. I had a pint of Wold Weather radar and Mandy went for Green Shed cider. Food was very good especially the Fajitas. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. Update 02/10/22 - I hear the pub is closing the following weekend. This is very sad as it’s a great place. We visited on 08/10 as a mark of respect.
Order during lockdown round 3. We picked up the food and then sat down to a fantastic meal, I was really impressed and cannot wait to visit the restaurant when things open up again. If you are looking to order a takeaway at the moment then I would highly recommend the spare wheel. We ordered the the wheel deal V2.
I was also impressed with the packaging and how they had branded everything including the bun tops.
Absolutely lovely little place, it has a cool friendly vibe and the menu is fab: burgers, burritos, enchiladas, so much yumminess! We had some quesedillias and halloumi which were both top-notch, followed by a burger (available with fries, sweet potato fries or salad) which was homemade and fantastic quality (and not at all greasy). The desserts looked amazing but sadly we were too full to try them!
Lovely food ,big portions very good selection of beer
Excellent food and varied drinks selection. My wife and I went for lunch and had the squid and quesadillas with halloumi burger and the Spare Wheel Signature. All of it was very tasty and was devoured without complaint. Service was friendly and attentive. Looking forward to returning and supporting another great independent.
Spare Wheel has excellent tap room with knowledgeable staff and does tasty street food as well.
Probably my favourite pub in Newbury. Nice vibe and lovely food but the big winners are the service and the beers.
Every beer on the menu is unique and has only a limited amount in stock. Once it's gone, it's gone forever. This can make finding a beer you like a bit difficult but thankfully the staff are super knowledgeable and will help you find something that's good for you.

First time here for food and wow. So, so good. The brisket tacos were incredible and you get so much for your money and worth every single penny. Beer is awesome and has something for anyone. Staff were so friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back!!
If your a craft beer drinker and a no frills eater(no plates) then this is the place.

Nachos excellent biggest in UK by far and loaded chips where amazing. Definitely a sharing dish. Pity not in basingstoke
