Simla Restaurant - Newcastle upon Tyne - Photo album

Amazing place me and my girlfriend recently stumbled across on our way home from a disappointing visit to another local restaurant. Tiny place but it looks bigger thanks to all the mirrors. Very smart and clean looking. Service was exemplary and very friendly, not pushy at all. I had the scallo
Great meal at Simla! The food was excellent especially the King Prawn Tandoori starter đź‘Ś wow! Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant.
A little indian oasis on a dreary wet Newcastle Friday evening . The restaurant is a small place . Beautiful pieces of art with soft lighting adorn the walls . It's what you call an intimate eating establishment, in fact the waiter told us it seats 35 people at anyone time , so you know you will get
My mum and I had a terrific Sunday night meal at Simla. Nice place to be. The food was terrific- delicately flavoured & spiced. Not a bit greasy. Nice selection of vegetarian dishes for mum. Will def return if/when we next come to Newcastle! Thank you
Absolutely delicious food and a really brilliant service. Staff were very accommodating as it was literally a very last min booking. Wasn't sure what to order as was our first time here hence the dishes were recommended by the staff after asking us what sort of food we liked. Did not disappoint. ✴️✴
Stunning. Went last night after work for a staff meal. I’m glad I did, the food was outstanding, not a single complaint can be made. Had the chicken tikka mixed starter and the chicken madras main. Both very flavourful, very well cooked and the perfect amount of spice. The service considering t
A fabulous meal at Simla last night. Our first visit and will not be our last. The food was tasty & amazing and the service was great. Staff were lovely. Only down side .... we were sat near the door & every time the door opened there was a cold breeze.
Excellent meal and service. One of the best curries I have had recently Great choice of food The menu is focused on quality and making sure each dish is prepared perfectly Great choice of drinks and attentive staff Sorry I didn’t take more pictures but I was to busy enjoying my meal and company
Got a last minute booking on a very busy bank holiday weekend. The place was packed, but the service from start to finish was superb, very friendly and efficient. The curry I had was one of the best I've ever eaten, & everyone on our table felt the same. Can't recommend this place highly enough, abs
The food and wine here was very good. It is not overly expensive although there were no prices on the menu which I found strange. Service was very good although I didn't like the way the senior waiter / manager tried to push a more expensive wine on me a couple of times after I had made my choice. N
We didn’t have a booking for the restaurant, and although booking is recommended, the staff were so helpful in getting us a table. We had to wait a few mins for them to squeeze us in but it was no problem at all to them. The service was top class and the food was delicious!
Amazing experience from start to finish. The restaurant is visually stunning and walking through the door, we were treated like family. The menu caters well for both meat eaters and vegetarian and the quality of food is second to none. Highly recommend Panak Paneer. Excellent wine list. A long estab
This. This is a proper Indian restaurant. The lamb shank is huge and extremely tender & tasty. Can't fault it. The lobster starter with mango. Wow! Beautiful... The prawn curry. SPICY!!!!! But oh so good. Service is impeccable. I'll be back.. fantastic!!!!!
Been wanting to visit Simla for a while but could never get a table. Very understandable why as it was amazing. Not a big place with only about 20 tables but once a meal was finished more customers took their place. A lot of dishes you would expect to see on the menu Not there but we're happy to mak
Loved this place. Beautiful interior and excellent service. Food was amazing and pretty decent value for money. A local taxi driver had recommended the lamb biryani and it was absolutely delicious. The dishes being served to other diners also looked equally amazing and the fact that the place was a
A very good indian restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne. I found this restaurant through Google, it is definitely above average. They do not try have a very very extensive menu as many others, it means that their dishes are well prepared and presented. Food is very good.
Excellent Indian cuisine and superb service. We were almost immediately seated upon arrival on an extremely busy Friday night, having made reservations, and promptly asked if we'd like drinks while looking through the menu. I ordered Lamb Shank Rogan Josh while my wife got a shrimp curry dish. Both
For mains, we ordered Lamb shank kashmiri rogan josh and Handi lazeez (chicken). They were delicious, and I really recommend the lamb shank for meat lovers. We were given complementary ice cream at the end, which was a very good touch from them. Speaking of which, the staff were very friendly, and
Went to Simla for my birthday, Ajil was incredible, one of the nicest waiters I have ever met, really went above and beyond for us and really made my day. He is a credit to the restaurant. The food was great and lovely atmosphere would recommend!
