Food was really nice, lots of choice and I'd highly recommend the Kedgeree.
Service was too notch, and prices are reasonable. The only thing that felt like a bit of a drawback was it feels very much like a shopping centre restaurant, so let's the atmosphere down a little, although I guess that is difficult to overcome given that ultimately that is what it is.
It would be nice if they could give the option to pay a little more so the kids can keep the bucket and spade their meals are served in.
Will definitely return.
Amazing service, staff were friendly and went out of their way to make conversation and have banter. Overheard them being super enthusiastic and fun towards children, and giving someone a birthday treat on another table :) Family friendly, great atmosphere.
Food was tasty and reasonably priced, I went with a family member and went halves on our sides. Dirty burger, sweet potato, croquette was great. Highly recommend rhubarb and custard drink , it sounds weird but is strangely very tasty (lemonade was really good too) with a good size for the glass. Apple crumble was nice as well.
Would go again.
1st time I've been here lighting is just about right it's small restaurant but still got that vibrant Look clean as out inside spotless. staff our very friendly helpful. food is top notch full of flavor drinks good quality there's No way you could eat a 3'course meal as the main fills you we just went into try 1st thing they asked was did we book we hadn't but they did explain that the table they offered was only free until like hour or so we took it and still had time to enjoy our food drinks... Question is would we go back Yes would be the answer as we truly enjoyed it...
The Chippy Tea is very good value for money. Everything nicely cooked. Good service.
Great eatery just inside the Intu centre. Friendly staff who pride themselves on service. They automatically gave the fruit my daughter didn't want to my wife and didn't deliver slightly spilt coffee but returned to re do it. Food was great. Student discounts available. Try out the fish as this is their signature theme.
Absolutely beautiful place with great food, dont go very hungry the large fish and chips isn't large more a small. Still very nice though. Staff friendly helpful and cheerful.
our first night in Newcastle was looking for a nice place to eat and came across Georges fish shack .
Staff very friendly welcoming
we ordered fish pies and a starter of muscles, but the chef wasn't happy with them, so it was taken off also out fish pie only found fish in there but was told it also had muscles and prawns would have been nice to find some .
all good, nice food 👌
Took our Grandson for lunch. We all had "chippy tea" and really enjoyed the haddock, chips and peas which were piping hot. The waitress was very helpful and, at our request, brought our tea after we finished our meals.
We went there yesterday since it was the most accessible resto that we've seen when we arrived at the eldon sq. We ordered oysters and fish&chips. It took so long for our order to be served and was informed that the chef isnt happy to serve the oysters. (Which is good. Rather than serving it and customers will going to get terrible experience.) I dunno if it was the manager who informed us, but she was nice to the customers. I give 4 stars bcoz of the serving time. Their fish and chips was nice.
Haddock and chips were both very nice and reasonably priced!
We asked to be seated in one of the little 'beach houses' but we were told they were reserved. However, all of them remained empty by the time we had left 😕
