Came here on a recommendation by a local and so glad I did. The pie was amazing and served with skin on proper home cooked chips, fresh peas and gravy. A dog friendly pub. 10/10 highly recommended and will definitely be back again to try one of the other pies on your menu.
Great food , good staff, dog friendly and a good price. It's been a while since I last went but my most recent visit was just as good. It can get busy at times but we went in the bob trollop side. The tikka pie is really nice fully recommend. It has a really good old vibe.
Really nice historical pub. I just love the way the inside is filled with nooks and alleys of its own. Its in a really great part of town and fits in perfectly. Recently had food for the first time and it won't be the last. Whats not to love about a pie and a pint!
It's a really good place to eat. Pie, mash and peas may not sound good but it was fantastic! There are loads of combinations of flavours. Reasonable price too and a good choice of beers. Great views on to the key side and bridge. Well worth a visit. Thanks Red House.
We was starving after a day of watching the GNR. We didn’t know if we would be able to get in. Wide range of pies, veggie options. Could have done with more gravy. The lighting was low but this is what you call a proper English pub.
Lovely pub, with good food and friendly service.
Had pie mash and peas and the best pint of bitter I've had in years. Pub is very atmospheric and the staff are great. Highly recommended.
If you fancy a good dirty traditional filling meal in a great atmosphere this is it! Exceptional. My trans friend Ric also loved his meat pie and concurs
At first I was a bit sceptical, another pub grub that sells different pies, probably just like any 'brand' offering. But wow, seriously. Yes the pies are small, but unbelievable , seriously, truly amazing. Goodd job I'm not local, or that would be a serious risk to my cholesterol and waist. D
Very decent pie and a pint from this iconic Quayside bar. In the heart of Newcastle's popular riverside social scene this pub does a lot well. Decent beers and ciders. Delicious pie menu. Old low beams to crack your head off. Worth a visit.
Quirky pub with tonnes of history and stories. Great range of beers and the pies and mash are well recommended. Service at the bar and for food can be a bit slow but the staff are very friendly
It's been 30 years since I last drank in this pub. Still has same authentic appeal as it ever did. A proper quayside with friendly service and tasty pint. Well worth a visit
Go there often with my dog which are very welcome in and outside and the staff are very friendly and helpful, I had fajita chicken pie and seasonal veg which was really good and the mash is amazing! Well priced good pub plenty of choice for food and drink! Would definitely recommend!
Lovely place and good delicious food. Food is warm on a chilly day. Nice sitting area in the tunnel. Will be back again👍
A little bit pricey for Newcastle but nice quiet bar and decent pie and mash
Great pub, great beer Great pie menu, superb Fantastic staff, lovely people
Really enjoyed this place for pies 😊 beef and peppercorn.
Pie and a pint. Great venue to catch up with friends over some nice food. Staff are very knowledgable and will take you through their drinks selection and give you tips on the best ones.
