The Chef reccomendWe stayed in the attached hotel ( the Cairn) as we were visiting family who lived nearby. It seemed to make sense to eat locally without going into the city centre. From start to finish we all ( including parents in their 80s)! Enjoyed the whole evening because of great service and delicious food. The ambience is good with a relaxing but lively vibe. Highly recommend .
Every dish was cooked to perfection. Slightly more expensive due to being in Jesmond, but worth it. The massaman was superb
Can't find any fault with this restaurant, food is fantastic, atmosphere is great and the service is brilliant and quick. Makes you feel special and relaxed. The staff are top notch and Amber is definitely management material.
Always a lovely atmosphere and ambiance however the food doesn’t really match that. it is average tasting and not quite as authentic as thailand. had the veg pad thai and it was bland and really lacking in umph. the tofu curry was terribly salty and difficult to eat even with rice to mellow the saltiness. this was the complaint of another family member who chose the salmon curry. staff were pleasant and hospitable but food was a let down.
Absolutely stunning place with excellent food and service. Me and my partner visited last night as an anniversary celebration, we were greeted with a glass of bubbly, and ordered some prawn crackers for the table. I had the salt and chilli squid for starter, and my partner had the chicken and noodle spring rolls, we were both very impressed with both the size and the taste of the starters. The main course did not disappoint either, I eat Thai food regularly, and the beef Penang is the best I have ever tasted. Truly was an incredible meal from start to finish, at a reasonable price - our bill was £70 for 4 courses each, and 4 alcoholic drinks between us.
Asian fusion food beautifully presented and very tasty. A choice of menus - a bottomless brunch (for the alcohol lovers!), a la carte or set menu - something for everyone. The food was fresh and well cooked. Recommended.
Great food and drinks. Highly recommend the phanang beef. Really tender beef with a spicy chilli kick. Wonderful staff.🍴🍷👍
Visited with friends for bottomless brunch, it was absolutely gorgeous. From booking to leaving, the service was excellent as is had to change the booking beforehand and it was sorted easily via email. Service on the day (I think the waitress was called Jessica?) was great, very attentive, especially as it was bottomless for 90mins, so you'd really expect the opposite! Food was lovely, so tasty, plenty to go around on the shared starters and mains were very generous. Restaurant area itself is gorgeous, loos clean and fresh and overall the place is lovely. Would definitely recommend for couples, friends catching up or a family do 🙂
Our visit to Sohe was the highlight of a weekend trip to Newcastle. The cocktails were delicious, as was every course at dinner and the monkfish & king prawn curry was simply the best curry I’ve ever eaten. The decor and ambience were sophisticated and atmospheric and everyone of the staff who attended to us during the evening (I think 6 in total) were fabulous. We were looked after exceptionally well by Kieran and the team. Great food and drinks, the cocktails are beautiful, and we’d recommend the Beef Panang and the king prawn and monkfish curry.
My favourite place to go with my partner, excellent service, definitely recommend the oysters and squid so tasty. All the waiters are super friendly.
It was a special night for us so we booked a 'booth' for cocktails an hour before our table. Cocktails were fantastic! really different and extra special tastes! Wish we could have tried more but we would have fallen over. Our dining table was brilliant, sat together looking out over the restaurant and cooking area. Atmosphere was fantastic. Staff were professional and helpful and friendly. Decor is very sumptuous and comfortable - not something you usually encounter in Newcastle, never mind Jesmond! We loved every second of it.It felt very special indeed. Oh, and then we ate food! The tastiest and freshest vegan food ever! Menu is clearly marked with Vegan choices and there were a good few to choose from. We had Edamame Beans in chilli oil, Sweet potato dumplings, tofu and broccoli with Jasmine Rice and Rice Noodles with vegetables. Outstanding. can't wait to return. Loved it all.
Have been to SoHe a couple of times and had mixed experiences. Some great and some not so great. Their new Bottomless Brunch menu just launched and is priced at £25.95. We headed along to try it out. Staff were incredibly friendly and very attentive. Brunch is 90 minutes and you can choose from Asahi beer, prosecco, Aperol Spritz or Yuzu & Jasmine Spritz. The menu is concise but diverse. You get a starter sharer of Chicken Satay with Peanut Dip, Vegetable Spring Rolls with Sweet Chilli Sauce, Salt & Chilli Squid - Chicken Satay is incredible. For main course, we shared the Katsu Chicken Curry and the Lamb Massaman Curry both served with Jasmine rice and garnished with fresh chillis. This was so we could get a taste of more than one curry. We also ordered Tempura Sweet Potato Chips with Plum Dipping Sauce and the Stir-Fried Pak Choi, Chilli, Garlic and Black Beans. The portion sizes were really hearty. The Lamb was tender and cooked well, whilst the sauce had a little kick to it. And the Katsu had ample sauce and the chicken was perfectly breadcrumbed. The Pak Choi was sooooooo gooooood but what really made the dish was the black beans, they were simply divine! Tempura Sweet Potato Chips were a lovely change too. They mopped up the curry sauce that the rice didn’t. It was all really good and the waitress wasn't shy topping our glass up. The food was really good and we had such a lovely experience that we're already looking forward to returning.

Excellent, concise menu. We had 5 dishes all were spot on! Lovely decor and friendly staff, buzzing even on a midweek midterm night. Would recommend the squid starter and the salmon main.
Great deals on in the week 3 courses for £16.95. Food quality is really good with a unique touch. Interior of restaurant is amazing. Quality of staff and service is really high they look after you and are very friendly/kind. Would definitely be going back in the future. Wide variety of dishes on the menus but small amount on the set menu. Good quality of spice and staff understand the menu and heat levels of their dishes.
Fantastic food with excellent service, what more could you ask for. Salt and Chilli Squid for starters was so fresh and tasty, just amazing. Green Thai curry was excellent, as was the Prawns and Squid main really was full of flavour. First time in a Thai restaurant that offered cocktails, the Wake up call was just fantastic, loved it. Definitely one to revisit next time I am in town!
Went for a meal to celebrate a friend's birthday -it was absolutely fantastic - really delicious food, nice atmosphere and wonderful staff - we left a tip and the manager came and thanked us for being so generous - how often does that happen? Will definitely make it a regular place to eat
this was a beautiful looking restaurant, very clean, we had 3 courses and they just got better, the deserts are unusual and beautiful, the staff our so friendly, we were luckily enough to have Amber as our waitress, so helpful and just really nice, she made our experience better thank you.

Absolutely excellent bottomless brunch yesterday, we had a large group of 12 of us and everybody was so impressed. Food fantastic, large range of drinks choices, service excellent! Will recommend to all :)
