Fantastic meal here. Love the Middle Eastern inspired small plates! The little table lamps add a touch of romanticism! Great sized portions! You can have a wonder to the pottery area and see all the work in progress. They use these plates for serving food which gives you some inspiration!! It’s also dog friendly which is a big bonus!!!!

We had an amazing meal at Kiln at the weekend. The staff were incredibly helpful with my partner's dietary requirements. He's dairy and gluten free, and the chef came and had a chat with him to see what would be best to order. His food came out on a separate plate as well to avoid any contamination.
I loved it here and can't wait to visit again.

We were introduced to this wonderful restaurant on a foodie walking tour today. We had sharing platters, including a wonderful cheese, home made hummus, red pepper dip, freshly made pittas and a delicious wine to wash it down. Very nice.

One of my favourite restaurants in Newcastle, the brunch and evening food is always outstanding. The atmosphere in the restaurant is so cosy. The perfect place for a casual meal and a few drinks with friends.

Went for dinner a few weeks ago. Been meaning to post this. Always good food and service with a smile. Can get a bit crowded, especially with multiple dishes being predominantly meze, small tables can make it tricky - however, doesn’t take away from the experience. Will be back soon!

Good food, good service and a good atmosphere.
If you like to share and eat and not to break the bank, this is the place to go.
While we were there, one of our party took ill. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. Greatest appreciated. Will go back with family again. The sea bass is highly recommended. Need to have the skill to avoid the bones.

Booked a table for 10am on a Saturday (nearly empty, should of just popped in), interia now looks different to alot of the pictures in terms of seating whch I would say is an improvement and nice if your looking for a quiet meal in an amazing old building.
Nice to see lots of staff preparing for what im quessing will become a much busier day, I was served by the manager with service being prompt, friendly and professional. Ive uploaded a picture of the latest breakfast menu the one posted by other users is out of date, you wont be disappointed with its replacement, this can also be found on their website.
I love scrambled egg, and having it with a croissant and beans was a great, amazing coffee and fresh orange juice, cant wait to come back.
Only niggle would be: Please put some coat hooks on the doors in the gents.
Keep up the the great work, see you all soon:)

Just stunning. Go! Go! Go!
My favourite brunch spot in Newcastle. Reserve online or walk-in as it’s surprisingly quiet. The design is trendy with a factory like vibe. The dinnerware is cool, with the plates and mugs being made in the kiln next door.
The service is great and the food is special. Everything is a treat. The shakshuka was deep and rich and the flat iron steak was tender and meaty. We had the fruit and berries with coconut and vanilla yoghurt on the side👌
Don’t forget to grab some fresh bread and pastries on the way out too!

I was visiting my daughter who’s at the uni and we wanted to find somewhere unusual with a great atmosphere and food. This place is a total gem. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the cakes made by the owners mother were sublime. We went for brunch but will definitely be going back for lunch or dinner next time I come up.

If you like high quality food and a place with a vibe,
come here to find your tribe.
Not even sure how may I start this place to describe,
but before I do, like, comment, follow, subscribe.
Plates are designed for sharing you will see,
so instead of ordering for me, go for we.
Variety for meat lovers, plant eaters and diet cheaters.
For the flavour curious, the beer drinkers and for the plate repeaters.
Staff and service is outstanding,
I guess it becomes even part of the restaurant branding,
make sure to make a reservation so they don’t leave you standing,
and be ready to claim that this place has been your finding.

Fabulous place which will be even better when the building works next door gets eventually finished. My blueberry and white chocolate cake was HUGE and I had to take half home! His caramel shortcake though also big was manageable and coffee delicious. Pottery studio also in building and was used for our meal - strange milk Jug but cute. 😍 outside seating which will be great in nice weather

Was recommended this place by a local, so as I was staying nearby for work decided to give it a try with a couple of colleagues. I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The food was incredible and the service was spot on. I returned the following evening by myself....just to sample some more of the dishes.

My daughter and I visited today and were pleasantly surprised, from the outside this hidden gem looks a bit run down but when you step through the doors you enter food heaven. The food was delicious, highly recommend the vegan stew and vegan hot chocolate. We came away full to the brim after being tempted by vegan chocolate cake! I can’t wait to go back to my new favourite place

Popped in for a take away coffee booked a table for today for 5 adults. We did have a wait for our food, however, it was worth waiting for. Absolutely loved the hummus sharing platter. And my mam commented it was the best frittata she'd ever had. Everyone else enjoyed theirs too. Yesterday I asked if there was a children's menu and was told no. We did notice yesterday that a child was eating from a lunch box so we came prepared for my daughter who thoroughly enjoyed her hot chocolate. And we enjoyed our espresso and walnut cake and lemon drizzle. Definitely be back (soon I hope!).

No better way to spend a few hours on a Saturday afternoon than to drop in at the Kiln for delicious food and of course there massive array of bottled ales!!!!!!! An absolute hidden gem in what I class is the best place by a country mile, Ouseburn 😊😊

I discovered Kiln a few months ago, and since then I've become a regular visitor! It's such a lovely cosy place to be, with the wood burning stove and all the candles. The selection of beers is great and all the food I've had has been lovely. The cakes in particular are fantastic, proper homemade cakes, with some of my favourites being a lemon cake and a rose-infused Victoria sponge. The staff are always lovely and welcoming. I love the fact you can see through to the pottery next door, and all the crockery is made there too. Once when I visited they seemed lacking in menus so my only feedback would be to print more of them.

New absolute fave place to eat and drink in Newcastle - such beautiful food with gorgeous fresh flavours and amazing coffee, presented on the most beautiful pottery. And those CAKES lush staff, lush music, lush vibe.

Service and atmosphere was fine but the cuttlery and glassware smelt like wet dog indicating your pot wash has not been cleaned in some time. I got half way through my meal before noticing and had to leave the food because I felt quite sick. I got another knife and fork and they smelt the same and upon mentioning it to staff they offered to re-wash the cuttlery which really didn't solve the problem. I really hate doing this but it really wasn't acceptable. First visit too and was looking forward to it, will not be returning.

What a fantastic find - definitely be back - such a hidden gem - if we hadn't come to the Ouseburn Festival we would never have known it was there - highly highly recommend

Lovely little gem of a place. Great food and the best selection of beers and ales and an even better selection of teas!

Really disappointed with our visit today. My boyfriend ordered at the bar for 2 cold drinks, a hot chocolate and the hummus platter. We both played some games and 50 minutes went by with no sign of my hot chocolate, so I asked one of the girls and she got me my drink and the girl who he ordered off came over and apologised. Then about 20 mins later my boyfriend spotted a couple who came in after us were served their hot food, so knowing they'd forgotton that too, he had to ask if they'd forgotton that too, so we just got our money back. Really nice staff and a lovely atmosphere but a real shame about forgetting orders.

It's got Beer and Cake! so that's 100% of the population catered for....been here a few time's when we visit the Ouseburn, the staff are friendly and the whole place has a relaxed vibe about it, great background music also, Love it

We visited kiln for a Saturday lunch and weren’t disappointed! The staff were really friendly, the aesthetic of the restaurant was lovely and the food was fabulous! We ordered the hummus sharing platter - the salads, hummus and warm sourdough were delicious. Thanks Kiln, see you again soon!

Excellent food and beer, friendly and helpful staff. Quirky place as it is on the back of a ceramics studio. Great using ceramics made on the premises. Love the tea cups and saucers. Looking forward to visiting again.

Took my better half to experience the kiln and the food and customer service were superb would totally recommend them especially as they had tame impala playing on the iPad totally chilled after a hard day's work
