Only had 1 curry chicken dhabba but it was fantastic saucy n tasty, big chunks of chicken breast, normally I don't enjoy breast meat as find it dry this was cooked perfectly. Shame we weren't very hungry as we didn't try any starters or deserts. Naan bread and tandoori roti were very tasty crisp and fresh. Will definitely go again when I'm in Newcastle, the staff were very good and friendly inside was very clean, a little bit dark for my liking but otherwise a fantastic experience 😀

Starter was lamb with a cheese sauce, looks odd but tastes nice. My curry was indo-chinese chilli curry more Chinese style than Indian. Was ok, bit off an odd combination, but said 2 chilli hot but was very hot in parts. Week day so was quite, I was late getting in too. Service was brilliant thanks

OK food, OK service. Nothing special, but not bad! My dish (coconut chicken curry) was a little bland and salty, but the others were better. The service was generally decent, though we had to ask four separate times for water for the table, and they eventually begrudingly brought one small jug and half as many glasses as people, after we had been there an hour. We were all ordering purchased drinks too, so it's not like we were being cheap.

One of the best places to get authentic biryani taste. Other dishes are good too but biryani is recommended both, lamb and chicken. Though the place needs bit of work but give it a visit!

I recently dined at Rani Restaurant in Newcastle, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The food was absolutely delicious, bursting with authentic flavors that transported me to the heart of India with every bite. From the tender chicken tikka to the fragrant biryani, every dish was a culinary delight. Despite the amazing food, what truly stood out was the impeccable service. The staff at Rani were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. They were quick to accommodate our needs and made us feel truly valued as customers. However, our evening was slightly disrupted by a rowdy group of men nearby. Thankfully, the staff handled the situation with utmost professionalism and promptly relocated us to a quieter area of the restaurant. Their swift action ensured that our meal wasn't overshadowed by the disturbance, and we were able to enjoy the rest of our evening in peace. Overall, I highly recommend Rani Restaurant to anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine in Newcastle. With their fantastic food, exceptional service, and dedication to customer satisfaction, it's no wonder they stand out as a gem in the city's dining scene. I'll definitely be returning for another culinary adventure at Rani.

Really good Indian restaurant we came across by chance. Very friendly staff, if a little hurried. Had set meal for two and the sizzling starter was fabulous and very generous. Bobby was a great host and charming. Nice atmosphere and decor. Loos were very nice, too. I would highly recommend!

Nice restaurant. The lamb dum biriyani was excellent. It differs from the typical Indian biriyani; the flavour is similar to a pilaf, and it wasn't as spicy as I had anticipated, but I still enjoyed it. The ambience was also good despite the noise. Overall, it's one of the nicest Indian restaurants in Newcastle.

In Newcastle for a work trip and ended up eating at Rani, which ended up being a great choice. Food was great and the chef even did requests if there was something you wanted that wasn’t on the menu. Service was also great. Would definitely go back next time I’m in the area

Had a Just Eat delivery from here tonight, arrived on time, piping hot and well packaged! The starter was absolutly delicious.. i knew by the aroma coming from its bag it was gonna be a tasty one!!! I got the Rani Tandoori Chicken Half.. very soft and tender and beautifuly spiced with the arome of the tandoor, absolutly delicious, would recomend!!! I also got a Garlic Nan which was lovely and i got something different from the norm.. King Prawn Ginger and Lime! At first i wasnt sure but once i got going with the Garlic Nan i soon changed my mind, it was lovely! Maybe not too everyones taste tho as there is big pieces of ginger and some cut lime in there, a nearly fruity dish with some good spice, from the ginger im assuming with loads of prawns in it too, if you love ginger and lime... go for it!!! 😁👌👍

I've been here first time and liked the food quite a bit. The Indian dishes are very nice and I loved the spices very much and the chef had the foods customised to contain more chillies which is not usual scenario BTW. So if you eat less spicy food then it should be alright too. The prices are reasonable for city centre restaurant and worth visiting.

Very quaint building under the Tyne Bridge with a very appealing interior. Four of us turned up at 11pm and were made to feel very welcome. We ordered a mixture of starters and four mains with rice and bread; I had a Chicken Kashmiri ("A fragrant dish, smooth and fresh in taste. Made with cashew nuts, banana and fresh cream") It is the first time I have had banana in a curry, and it was exquisite! Will certainly be returning here on my next visit to Newcastle Quayside. All in, the meal for four was just shy of £80.00... Awesome.
