Welcoming bar with a good choice of cask and keg, with the environment feeling inviting and comfortable. It's hard to see the beer choice though if customers sit in front of pumps, needs a list on a blackboard or Untappd perhaps. But, nonetheless, a lovely venue and would recommend.
Decent, chill place with good beer selection. Wish they still did Theakston's Barista Stout but you can't have it all! My only real complaint is the lighting is quite heavy-handed - too many LED spots making the whole place starkly lit and detracting from the vibe. Seen a couple of banging gigs down
Always a great rompus. Always a banging playlist and usually when I go on a sunday late at night not too busy either so very autism Freindly eith tge right vibes and some lush songs with Freindly staff.
Chain places wouldn’t really be my thing, but I absolutely loved head of steam!!!! They do fab cocktails. Craft beers and some really good food and I just LOVED their interior, such W cool vibe!!!!
A bit of a hidden gem with one of the best selections of beers and ales in Newcastle. Pretty small bar area up a load of stairs (not wheelchair friendly) but well worth the climb.
One of my favourite pubs in Newcastle - great beer, fair prices and fantastic service! The staff really make this place welcoming and different from other bars (and they're not bad to look at either!) If you haven't been before I'd definitely recommend it
Canny bar, always liked it in here. Been to some canny gigs in the basement over the years. Great selection of beers.
Great pub with a lively late night atmosphere. Two separate bars, one downstairs and one up with loos on street level. Good range of cask, keg and bottled beers and an eclectic decor. Open late at the weekends and atracts post gig crowd when porirua pubs are closed.
Great venue and handy for station. Great selection of sales and lagers Friendly staff and clean bar with code for toilets. Geordie Paul ( Bodega)
Quality ales in a friendly setting. Decent playlist of 90s heavy guitar stuff while we were there.
Good pub near Newcastle Station. Six cask ales on handpump when I last visited including a porter. Open until 3am on Saturday night!
Cosy atmosphere, with friendly staff and lots of different drinks to choose from. Always a solid choice for a few sociable drinks!
This is a nice place to meet up with friends. The staff are friendly and accommodating. There is a good selection of real ale available at the bar along with your stannary lagers. It can get busy here of an evening. Odd seating arrangement with the tables built in to the seats. The toilets are clean
Aspall guy here as the bar lady calls me, great bar. Really inviting, we found this bar on the Saturday night and spent considerable amount of time and money here because the atmosphere was amazing, so much so that we made a point our last night (Sunday) finished in this bar. Can’t rate food only be
Great bar.. Amy was so friendly and made our weekend. Went there for late drinks 2 out of 3 night
Excellent range of interesting craft and cask beers. The Oakham Citra was particularly good
Great craft ales. One of my favourite bars in the world.
Head of Steam is an excellent little venue, who host small up-and-coming artists and bands. The music/sound quality is good, though depending on the band, can be a little loud - ear plugs are recommended. Standing space can be limited on the floor, and the view is slightly limited if you stand nex
