A bit of a hidden gem with one of the best selections of beers and ales in Newcastle. Pretty small bar area up a load of stairs (not wheelchair friendly) but well worth the climb.

Welcoming bar with a good choice of cask and keg, with the environment feeling inviting and comfortable. It's hard to see the beer choice though if customers sit in front of pumps, needs a list on a blackboard or Untappd perhaps. But, nonetheless, a lovely venue and would recommend.

Aspall guy here as the bar lady calls me, great bar. Really inviting, we found this bar on the Saturday night and spent considerable amount of time and money here because the atmosphere was amazing, so much so that we made a point our last night (Sunday) finished in this bar. Great pub. Friendly staff. Been 16 times in Newcastle coming from abroad for Newcastle United. Never been in this pub until last September. Thx for the Motorhead beer😎 We’ll be back end of March next year.🍺👍

Good pub near Newcastle Station. Six cask ales on handpump when I last visited including a porter. Open until 3am on Saturday night!

Great pub with a lively late night atmosphere. Two separate bars, one downstairs and one up with loos on street level. Good range of cask, keg and bottled beers and an eclectic decor. Open late at the weekends and atracts post gig crowd when porirua pubs are closed.

Great gig venue. Visited to see Dictator who were amazing as always. Enjoyed the venue. Great bar upstairs with a nice atmosphere so we stayed there without moving on afterwards

Visited both branches both great.This one is opposite the station and was a fun experience due to great staff. Fantastic selection of beers from across the world much to choose from covering most tastes. Very happy atmosphere and great for a late night drink.

Chain places wouldn’t really be my thing, but I absolutely loved head of steam!!!! They do fab cocktails. Craft beers and some really good food and I just LOVED their interior, such W cool vibe!!!!

What a great selection of beer! We were chuffed to see some random belgium beer.
