My recent visit to Toby Carvery Shiremoor was an absolute delight, leaving me thoroughly impressed and satisfied. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I was in for a treat.
The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the friendly staff, made me feel right at home.
But the real star of the show was the food. The carvery spread at Toby Carvery Shiremoor was nothing short of spectacular. From succulent roast meats to an array of delicious sides and trimmings, every dish was prepared to perfection. The freshness and quality of the ingredients were evident in every bite, leaving me craving for more.
What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt attended to and satisfied. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality added an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience.
In conclusion, Toby Carvery Shiremoor is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary haven where every visit promises a feast for the senses. Whether you're craving a hearty roast dinner or simply seeking a warm and welcoming atmosphere, Toby Carvery Shiremoor delivers on all fronts. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

This was the first time here for Hubby and I. Got seated fairly quickly, and cappuccinos arrived shortly thereafter. We both had the carvery. The food was delicious. Lovely selection of meat and vegetables. Finished off with Apple Pie and custard. Great service, great food, will definitely be back.

Me and the family regularly visit here as its one of the few places the kids will actually eat the food. We usually get served by Wllen who is the most pleasant young lady I've met! She's always great with the kids, nothing is a problem, she's always so smiley and helpful! Highly recommend this place!

Excellent food as usual. All the staff are lovely and smiley. Natalie looked after our table perfectly and couldn't do enough for us. Fantastic!

Wonderful experience at Shiremoor Toby Carvery. The food was delicious, an excellent variation of meat, vegetables and sides to choose from and the restaurant was clean and spacious.
Special thank you to Marley who couldn't have done more to make our experience such a pleasant one. She was very pleasant, attentive and brilliant with our 2 year old. Thank you!

I just had the best time at Tony Carvery! The food was absolutely amazing and the service was top-notch. Let me tell you, the blonde host with tattoos was absolutely fantastic. She was so friendly and made us feel right at home. I can't recommend Tony Carvery enough for a fantastic dining experience!

Mostly very good, staff very courteous and keen to please. We were mainly dealt with by Sammie.
This branch has some minor layout issues... we struggled to be seen by staff when we went in through the entrance, not helped by the Christmas tree. Also, when there is a long queue for the carvery, people going to / from the gravy are having to walk through the queue.

Very polite Staff and helpful and asking if your meal was ok. Really lovely food.

Great roast cavery...so big, couldnt finish it. Yorkshire puds are massive. Worth the money and tasty. Very full and noisy only downside, but staff very nice and accommodating.

Booked in as new it would be busy. Got a booth that I requested. Carvery was good, unfortunately pork was going to be another 10-15 minutes so opted for beef which was extremely nice and not fatty. Staff pleasant and helpful

I go regularly
I always have the carvery
I ask for the new joint of meat and always get it
When I arrive the staff ask for our drink order immediately
I wait and chat to my friends. Then when the veg is renewed we get our meal. So it’s always hot and fresh. I have no Complaints.
Desserts are fab

I went to toby for 'eat all you want for breakfast' with my son and partner....the taste of the food was nice' BUT ' i am dairy intolerant....i asked the waitress for any dairy free spread for my toast..as they only had butter out on display.....the reply was No.....I had tea refills ...cool....do you have any soya milk....again NO .....they had this potatoes/ham mix and i called to the chef does this have cheese in.....yes he said....do you have an alternative...i asked..NO again....the toby has no descriptions of each food served at the service counter.....which i think now is customary , for intolerance and allergy sufferers...the food pans at the bottom were full of fat/grease....you need to be diverse as a company now catering for every needs or you need to explain to the paying public ,that you do not cater for people with allergies/intolerances......

Never again! The tiles on the wall had yesterdays splattered gravy on, the ledge was covered in dust, food on the floor, around the pepsi station and buffet area. There were tables around us that did not get cleared for 15 mins after people left and dirty plates were left on one persons table for over 45 min. Twice there were no plates leaving people to queue, food was not reguarly topped up, so had to go check for items 2/3 times before they were available. Breakfast food was not particularly nice either....

Fantastic place, same in on a Sunday evening without booking, had to wait 10 minutes for a table but who cares with a place you expect to be busy on a Sunday. Food was amazing and so was the waitress (Sam). My only picky bit but I’m not going to lower a star as it’s my opinion is they need another coke machine as I had to walk from one side of the restaurant to the other for a refill. Will 100% be returning again!

Real nice and the food was hot and seemed freshly put out ... the beef was slightly too fatty and not a great amount of meat for a king size ... but for the money I can't complain that much ... Will definitely be back ( just tweak your meat a bit )

We had a lovely Sunday roast with the family the place was clean and tidy pently of parking too. The only problem we had was the on tap beer was warm and my father in law didn't like it at all but didn't want to ruin the day by complaining. The food was fresh and they had 3 chefs on the go and pork beef turkey and gammon were lovely all the veg was again fresh and cooked well ..As for the Yorkshire puddings were 5star. The staff were busy but still happy and easy to talk too and looked after us ..

This has to be the worst meal we've ever eaten, anywhere. All four roasts were dried up scraps of shoe leather, seriously! Had to request being served from a new roast when really that shoe leather shouldn't have even been on offer to be served in the first place. Veg were disgusting, curled up and cold. Add to this the total understaffing and yeah, diabolical! Though I will say our server, Katie was brilliant. That was the only good part.
Very poor Toby Shiremoor, very very poor. So disappointed that we won't be back.
Magdalen Taylor
Very disappointed in carvery food barely warm. Waitresses very helpful only good point.

Staff not the best food was a bit bland and I have ate in a few Toby carvery's over time and this was the worst so far.

Breakfast with Santa this morning was a massive hit for us; two adults two kids and here’s why:
- the kids got an all you can eat breakfast, an orange juice, the chance to write a letter to Santa, a visit with Santa in his grotto, a goody bag, a packet of glittery reindeer dust and a (rather large) carrot for Rudolph all for £5 each. That’s amazing value especially when you consider most places were charging that or more just to see Santa!
- the adults got the same all you can eat breakfast we always get for the usual price, no over inflated “special” as it’s Christmas
- the staff we’re lovely, as they always are, they we’re efficient and very friendly, making the whole experience even better
Thank you Toby Shiremoor for being great hosts, we hope you all have a Merry Christmas
