This has to be one of our favourite places to go for Afgan food, there's a bit of a fusion with some Indian style cuisine on the menu too, the portions are MASSIVE and the food is absolutely banging! Everything is clean, tidy and well presented. Definitely somewhere to go if you're looking for something different that won't break the bank!

Edit 09/03/24: We go there biweekly and they've never disappointed us. My go-to food is biryani, no doubt. We tried curry as well; it’s very different from Indian curry but very rich and flavorful. I would easily and definitely say this is the best restaurant in Newcastle. 20/12/23 We had kabuli pilau, lamb biryani and peshwari chana dal and they all tasted absolutely amazing. Rich, full of complex flavors and spice. I’m glad we went there with a good appetite, the portions were really generous. The staff members were lovely too. We’ll definitely try mantos next time.

The food is amazing. One of the staff members has been questionable on a few basis, Indian fella who doesn't understand customers needs and is very pushy. Everytime I've been he is very smiley but maybe needs more training in service. Prefer to deal with the young men who I think are relatives of the owner. Atmosphere is OK but a gem for food - highly recommend their kabli piloau and lamb karahi boneless charsi style.

The best qabili pilau I ever taste in my life. The lamb is so moist and tender. Love it when they lavishly put raisins and carrots. My wife loves spicy lamb ribs. We live 45 minutes away and I wish they were just at the end of my road. It is worth the journey every time we are craving qabili pilau and lamb ribs. Mango lassi is so good. We used to love Al Jazeera/At Taiba in Manchester, but not anymore!
