First time I have ordered from Clay Oven and was impressed. The site said the order would be an hour and it came in about 50 mins which is great, I appreciate realistic and honest delivery times. I went for a methi lamb and naan bread and some samosas to bulk out the order as breakfast fodder so I can only comment on the main at this point (the samosas do look awesome mind). The curry was really generous with loads of lamb and not at all greasy or oily. It was a bit light on the methi for me but I am a massive fan of its bitter taste and I understand that they have to cater for everyone who isn't me and I could always order extra next time. The standard chilli heat level is higher than my South Shields' educated palate but again that's me and now I know where they're coming from I will ask for mild next time. I this sounds like a lot of negatives but it's not, it was a lovely curry delivered when they said it would be and I will defo use them again Edit: out of sheer greediness just had one of the meat samosas - awesome!

Always a brilliant curry, delivery occasionally can be a little slow, but always worth the wait. Customer for 15+ years, and just about to stick another order in.

I've been a fan of Indian food for years. And can honestly say that the clay oven food is the best I have ever had. When I have been to other restaurant's and I mentioned the clay oven as my local take away I have been told that the chef there is one of the best in the north east. Just give it a try and you won't be disappointed. 10 out of 10.

absolutely first class food...believe me i have had many takeaways including the new takeaway restaurant in chapel house which was not great and Clay oven has never delievered anything but outstanding food...soeak as i find .
