One of the best independent cinemas going at the moment. Some of the best showings for the big upcoming new films with early releases. Comfortable seating, lovely cafe, cool overnight fun screenings and genuine staff, who’ve never been a problem but have always made the experience great! P.S - make more shirts with the over night showings (I will buy them)

Very nice comfortable cinema with plenty of leg room and a great view from any seat. I like aisle H the most! Staff was friendly. The place was very clean and the atmosphere was nice.

Wonderful as always. We were in the smaller room, it's so comfortable and makes the cinema experience more powerful. We enjoy watching independent films here that you can't easily see in other cinemas in town. It's great to have somewhere to see these films and in such a gorgeous venue.

My favourite place on Earth. I went here as a Durham student more times than I went anywhere in Durham! The Young Tyneside Card gives amazing savings and the film selection, particularly of older, independent and foreign language films, makes this the best cinema in the UK. I would credit Tyneside for giving me the love for film that I have today. The cafe has a lovely ambience and there’s nothing like having a hot chocolate there after an intense film before going back out into the world. I have been to BFI London and it doesn’t even come close to what Tyneside offers in terms of community. Thank you for making my student experience infinitely better than it would have been without you. A credit to Newcastle.

The cinema hosted our 40th anniversary work party. The staff were very helpful throughout especially the bar staff. The buffet was of good quality and various dietary options were available. The only slight negative was having only one beer on tap at £6.50 per pint which is definitely on the expensive side for a run of the mill brand.

Great place & extremely well maintained, more so than some of the larger cinemas & theatres in Newcastle. Comfy seats too & not crammed together. Support our remaining independent cinema!

My 3rd time back here when visiting Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. I love the atmosphere and friendly staff as well as selection of food and drink. Also love the range of films that are put on! Will be back again when in town.

I recently visited the Tyneside Cinema, and I must say it deserves a solid 5 stars! This gem offers a classic cinema experience that's truly unique and not available at the nearby Cineworld and Everyman cinemas. From its charming historic setting to its carefully curated film selections, Tyneside Cinema transports you to a bygone era of movie magic. The atmosphere, friendly staff, and attention to detail make it a must-visit for any film enthusiast. It's a cinematic journey you won't want to miss!

We were watching Broker in the Gallery cinema. The seats were comfortable and all had good views of the screen - it felt very personal. The whole building was really nice with interesting displays and a generally nice vibe.
