Spotted this little gem, while travelling to the nearby reservoir.
Little unsure about the quirky train carriage built inside to give the feeling of fine dining aboard something like the Orient Express, but it’s good fun, and probably helps attract more people than an ordinary pub would, so 10/10 for ingenuity, but I’m not sure it’s completely necessary as the star of the show was definitely the food.
I had the sea food chowder, which came with garlic bread and fries, and it was spot on delish. Sea food bang on cooked, good thick creamy sauce, seasoned to perfection. Garlic bread was light and crunchy and not too heavy on the garlic. Fries were fresh, not frozen, always good to see, crisp with skin on and light and fluffy inside.
My partners pie was good and tasty, although she is not a fan of courgette, and their was quite a bit on the plate, in fact, I think it was the whole courgette.
Her sisters lasagne was great although it kept getting compared to a previous lasagne which was swimming in an orange sauce.
Malteser’s cheese cake for dessert was just divine, to finish the night off.

I passed this place on a trip to Manchester Airport, looked it up on Google maps and booked a table.
We went on a Saturday night and it was quite popular. The car park was almost full.
This is a really novel dining experience that has had some thought, and some money put behind it.
The food was really nice and good size portions, it was also well presented. We also thought it was good value for money and we would not hesitate to recommend a visit.

Visited here twice during the May Bank Holiday this year (having previously visited in 2020) and the food and atmosphere were amazing each time! The recent refurb looks great. We visited one day for dinner (and tried three courses) and loved it so much we went back for the breakfast the next day which you could tell were high quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. The staff were also very friendly and we found the service great each time we've been.

A very pleasant surprise to find this on our holiday. We sat in the carriage in first class and the food was the best we had all week!
Wish we found it earlier in the week as I wanted to go back.

Very nice food with some unusual choices. I had Indonesian curry and my partner had fish chowder. Reasonably priced menu and the carriage area is brilliant

This is becoming our favourite restaurant now. Just so much choice on the menu alone, besides the daily specials. Staff are always so friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the food on offer.
I also visit with a disabled family member, and staff are just beyond amazing with them.

Lovely Restaurant, Offers Gluten Free Food and allows behaved Dogs. Nice homely food and some nicer dishes too. Staff are very friendly. Has a good drinks range as well as Cocktails.

It's a lovely restaurant in idyllic in a lovely area.
We had lunch there and the meal was very good and the Sweet's were amazing, I will go back there soon.

We were in for a real treat and a fantastic surprise 😁 when we booked a meal without knowing anything about this place. We were taken back once we entered to find an actual train carriage inside the pub, I know the name kind of gives you a clue but WOW. Definitely would recommend this fine establishment for a romantic evening with a loved one or a family gathering 😉👏❤️

This is a very nice restaurant with a unique decoration, very comfortable seating. The food was very tasty. The service was friendly and efficient and we were absolutely delighted with the company of the sweet Lily, the restaurant's dog 🥰.

Absolutely amazing food, best steak and ale pie we’ve ever had. Lovely setting, can either sit in an old train carriage or in the main bar area. Both lovely and very comfortable.

The food was really good; everything was cooked extremely well and served beautifully. Great portions sizes too; the loaded fries could easily be shared between two or three people.
Good and fair pricing too.
The train carriage was very fun to sit inside and beautifully decorated.
The staff were very friendly and attentive too.

Such a cute quirky restaurant, great food which was well presented and friendly staff. The train carriage theming was a bit different. Wouldn't go here expecting a fancy meal but for a tasty, relaxed meal give it a go - you won't regret it!

We have just had a lovely eating experience at the beautifully decorated Carriages restaurant. The food was fantastic, the decor completely different to anything we've seen before and the staff helpful and friendly (sorry we couldnt tip you... we had zero cash with us, very embarrassing)..... We couldnt recommend eating here enough!!
