Absolutely outstanding food and I 100% recommend the lamb! Staff was so welcoming, friendly and attentive. Desserts are traditional and amazing �. I would highly recommend a visit!!
Great service and accommodating for our two young girls ( aged 1&4) in a great setting. Food was delicious too. Kids meals were good portions but at £5.50 could have done with a drink and maybe ice cream included to be like other comparable places. The crab linguini was excellent but the portion could have done with being a little larger. Other meals looked more filling when I spied them on others plates! Over all, really good meal out. Thanks.

Been to carriages tonight, forget how close to darley dale/Matlock it is only take 20/25mins. Food was all homemade and absolutely delicious. Loved the train layout too. Highly recommend and will be back. Thank u xxx
Thee most imaginative restaurant we've been too, just like dining on a train ! Well kept restaurant clean with great service from all whom served us. The food was amazing what we ate cannot recommend this restaurant enough the only downside is we live too far away to revisit quick enough thank you for a great evening dinner.

It was absolutely delicious �. I had the steak and ale pie with potatoes � and vegetables � I was told it would be about 20 minutes wait to be made fresh it was well worth it . My husband had venison burger � with chips he'd never had one before and loved it . For dessert � I had red velvet cupcake with fresh raspberries,raspberry coule and white chocolate ice cream � ,my husband had apple � and raspberry crumble with custard. The food was presented beautifully the service was excellent will definitely go again.
Lovely restaurant just called in on Sunday for lunch. You could just drive by but I'm certainly glad we called in for dinner. The fillet steak was delicious and the sea bass was lovely too.. Thank you to all the staff who were very attentive. I was so impressed with the railway carriage, we sat 1st class and got 1st class service. Well worth a visit and we will certainly be visiting again soon.

Love calling into this place , the staff are so friendly the beers always cold and the food is always top draw . I have to add aswell it's one of the cleanest places I've been in. Keep it up �

came here on the 10th of october with eileen proctor had a brilliant night the staff were very helpful and friendly we had a starter as eilleen was about to go on so not enough time to have a meal but the starters were amazing will be coming again and next time we will have a meal what a nice restaurant keep up the good work

Both myself and my friend had the mushroom start, which was delicious followed by steak. The steak was cooked to perfection and quite possibly one of the best I've had in a long time. Looking forward to my next visit and sampling more tasty treats from the menu. Superb :-)
This is becoming our favourite restaurant now. Just so much choice on the menu alone, besides the daily specials. Staff are always so friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the food on offer.
I also visit with a disabled family member, and staff are just beyond amazing with them.
This is a very nice restaurant with a unique decoration, very comfortable seating. The food was very tasty. The service was friendly and efficient and we were absolutely delighted with the company of the sweet Lily, the restaurant's dog 🥰.

Spotted this little gem, while travelling to the nearby reservoir.
Little unsure about the quirky train carriage built inside to give the feeling of fine dining aboard something like the Orient Express, but it’s good fun, and probably helps attract more people than an ordinary pub would, so 10/10 for ingenuity, but I’m not sure it’s completely necessary as the star of the show was definitely the food.
I had the sea food chowder, which came with garlic bread and fries, and it was spot on delish. Sea food bang on cooked, good thick creamy sauce, seasoned to perfection. Garlic bread was light and crunchy and not too heavy on the garlic. Fries were fresh, not frozen, always good to see, crisp with skin on and light and fluffy inside.
My partners pie was good and tasty, although she is not a fan of courgette, and their was quite a bit on the plate, in fact, I think it was the whole courgette.
Her sisters lasagne was great although it kept getting compared to a previous lasagne which was swimming in an orange sauce.
Malteser’s cheese cake for dessert was just divine, to finish the night off.
Wow and wow. What a brilliant concept and marvelous surroundings. Went for an evening meal and loved every second. A must visit!
I passed this place on a trip to Manchester Airport, looked it up on Google maps and booked a table.
We went on a Saturday night and it was quite popular. The car park was almost full.
This is a really novel dining experience that has had some thought, and some money put behind it.
The food was really nice and good size portions, it was also well presented. We also thought it was good value for money and we would not hesitate to recommend a visit.
Lovely Restaurant, Offers Gluten Free Food and allows behaved Dogs. Nice homely food and some nicer dishes too. Staff are very friendly. Has a good drinks range as well as Cocktails.
Absolutely amazing food, best steak and ale pie we’ve ever had. Lovely setting, can either sit in an old train carriage or in the main bar area. Both lovely and very comfortable.
We were in for a real treat and a fantastic surprise 😁 when we booked a meal without knowing anything about this place. We were taken back once we entered to find an actual train carriage inside the pub, I know the name kind of gives you a clue but WOW. Definitely would recommend this fine establishment for a romantic evening with a loved one or a family gathering 😉👏❤️

The food was really good; everything was cooked extremely well and served beautifully. Great portions sizes too; the loaded fries could easily be shared between two or three people.
Good and fair pricing too.
The train carriage was very fun to sit inside and beautifully decorated.

Visited here twice during the May Bank Holiday this year (having previously visited in 2020) and the food and atmosphere were amazing each time! The recent refurb looks great. We visited one day for dinner (and tried three courses) and loved it so much we went back for the breakfast the next day which you could tell were high quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. The staff were also very friendly and we found the service great each time we've been.
A very pleasant surprise to find this on our holiday. We sat in the carriage in first class and the food was the best we had all week!
Wish we found it earlier in the week as I wanted to go back.
Such a cute quirky restaurant, great food which was well presented and friendly staff. The train carriage theming was a bit different. Wouldn't go here expecting a fancy meal but for a tasty, relaxed meal give it a go - you won't regret it!

We have just had a lovely eating experience at the beautifully decorated Carriages restaurant. The food was fantastic, the decor completely different to anything we've seen before and the staff helpful and friendly (sorry we couldnt tip you... we had zero cash with us, very embarrassing)..... We couldnt recommend eating here enough!!
It's a lovely restaurant in idyllic in a lovely area.
We had lunch there and the meal was very good and the Sweet's were amazing, I will go back there soon.
Very nice food with some unusual choices. I had Indonesian curry and my partner had fish chowder. Reasonably priced menu and the carriage area is brilliant
