Absolutely lovely village pub, serving excellent freshly prepared food which was delicious. There is a good selection of drinks on offer as well, all served by lovely smiling staff. Go there if you can. You will not be disappointed.
Very lovely small and very old pub. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was ok but nothing special
Absolutely loved our lunch with you yesterday. Perfect country pub ambiance. Roaring log fire. Dogs everywhere!! Lovely staff And delicious fresh food cooked perfectly to order with top quality ingredients. Loved every minute of it. Spoke to people in Monmouth and Wollaston. Your reputation is sprea
We struggled to find a country pub open for lunch and also serving food on a Thursday in October, but this was a perfect find. My sausage and mash was delicious, certainly NOT supermarket sausages as a previous reviewer said, and my wife's ploughman's was also excellent. Nice ales on tap too. Perhap
We had the added luck of seeing the village on a glorious sunny day and it is worth a visit in its own right. We booked ahead and it's probably better to do so,it would seem to be popular. Butty Bach on tap so I was happy. A good selection of starters, mains and desserts. We both had the rack of lam
Great pub. Peaceful setting, good selection of ales, good food. Had sausage and mash and a deceptively large ploughman's. Authentically maintained original (vintage? ancient?) features. You can sit out the front on the quiet road with no problem
Went with friends on a warm summer day and sat in the garden. Great food (a little bit pricey), perfectly cooked, delicious and beautifully presented. Interesting choices of meat, fish, sea food and vegetarian options and they asked about dietary requirements (we don't have any). Fair range of beer
Beautiful pub full of old English charm! Really impressed by the veggie and vegan options. Had an amazing time, so much so we came back for lunch and dinner! Super dog friendly, and the garden out the back was perfect for a sunny summer day. Highly recommend!!!! :)
Copy and warm on a blustery and rainy day. My idea of the quintessential "Brit" pub. Nice people, good grub and great service.
Stayed here many moons ago when it was a B&B. Loved everything and try to pop in when visiting the area.
I put a review on TripAdvisor last week & visited again this week to be welcomed by the Hugely Sassy landlady/manager with "Back already". "You didn't kill me last time" was my reply. This is my new top ๐Ÿป & ๐Ÿด in The Wye Valley. I feel sorry for her as she will be meeting me a lot more. Do go ๐Ÿ‘Œ
Great cosy country pub serving local ales and good, well priced food
We had my daughterโ€™s wedding reception here, May โ€˜23โ€™. It was so well organised, the food was great, staff were polite, friendly and professional. The garden was lovely, a fantastic space, a great backdrop for photos. We had such a lovely time, I would highly recommend it. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š
Stopped here on a very cold, very wet walk in the Wye Valley. Good selection of real ales, a roaring open fire and some lovely old-time jazz on in the background. The steak and ale pie I had was outstanding and a real morale boost given the weather. Staff were friendly too and it wasn't too expensiv
Excellent pub and a hidden historical gem. Great food and good ales
We had dinner there tonight with our three kids. Excellent service and a great choice of food - the pies were fabulous!
