The Golden Lion - Newmarket - Photo album

Nice and spacious pub located along the High Street. Good value drinks and reasonable priced food items... staff is efficient and friendly during our visit
Had a large mixed grill, wasn't massively impressed all the meats kinda tasted the same. However, for the price, it's probably worth it. Service was great and staff friendly. Would return but order something different.
Just ordered the chicken barriito salad. Had. No chicken! 🤢. . This my fav...its has happened twice now...what's so sad is this is my favourite dish!..... P. S...they bought the chicken out 20 min after I'd finished 🤣.
Breakfast was quite cheap as always being a Werherspoons, but sadly not happy with a rather tasteless sausage served. I can appreciate that in order to keep cost down cheaper alternatives may be used, but that was a real letdown in otherwise nice breakfast for its price. Bacon, hash brown, beans
... friendly atmosphere.. really polite staff ! good surroundings\atmosphere.... would suggest Having a Visit happily !! . ..
Very kind and friendly staff, good selection of beers and reasonable prices. 👍🏻
Nice, well cooked breakfast, especially the bacon and grilled tomatoes - just a little burnt. Baked beans were straight on the plate but the bean juice didn't run everywhere ruining everything else, but I'd prefer them in a separate bowl.
Clean and tidy Wetherspoons with low price beer and other drinks. Good atmosphere and a great place to meet up before going around the town. Food is fairly basic, good portions/quality and really low in price compared to the rest of the town.
Good old spoons, Mrs was having her hair done so I popped into spoon for a lager breakfast , nice cold bottle of erdinger at 11am, great start to the day lol. I did feel a bit naughty but then looked around and the place was packed with horsy types all supping the ale early doors so felt like part o
I love Wetherspoons, as usual there's a great selection of well kept beer. It's an attractive building with seating inside and out. I've been using the app this last year and it's excellent, including all the guest beers and even showing upcoming ales. Service is quick although my friend said rec
Not a bad spoons overall. Quite clean and tidy. Has the usual array of drunk workmen still in the filthy clothes. But staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is tasty and well priced as always 👍
Always good service, and the staff are friendly, they will recommend various drinks if you ask
Not the finest of Tim's pubs however it's Spoons so you know what you're getting. Too many 'National' ales and not enough locals however that may be due to current supply/production issues. Town centre location not far from multi storey car park and big M&S. Good outdoor seating area.
Good vibe, nice size spoons. Typical beer and food available. It’s a very predictable place with cheap beer. Not a fan of the food post brexit, the burgers have gone down hill and I wouldn’t recommend any more. Curry night is good
Cheap and cheerful. The food was well-priced and good. There are a ton of places to sit and the garden is relaxing. There's also a massive selection of beer. My only issue was it took nearly an hour to get my food. We used the online app they are pushing but I guess they aren't ready for it to be us
Love this pub. The staff are always very good and also very efficient. There is a lovely young lady who I believe is a shift/pub manager, I can't think of her name ATM, but she seems to work many hours. But I've got to be honest the service, cleanliness etc.... Has massively improved since she has b
