We recently visited this place for lunch with our little one after seeing all the delicious food pictures posted on-line. We were not disappointed. The food tasted even better than it looked. The customer service was great with our fresh food arriving really quickly. This is a real hidden gem in Newport. We will definitely be popping back soon for lunch.
Stopped off for a quick breakfast after reading positive reviews. First impressions were great as the owner sought to seat us quickly. This place has a nice friendly vibe with plenty to read in the way of books and magazines. We ordered 2 regular breakfasts and were not disappointed by the quality or speed of service. Delicious bacon and sausage, perfectly cooked egg with mushrooms, beans and tasty granary toast. Quality tea & coffee. All staff were helpful and friendly. Looking forward to a return visit for maybe an even bigger breakfast. Thank you.
Probably one of the best eateries in Newport city centre .Service is great and it's not overly expensive . I'd recommend trying this place . I've visited 3 times and will be coming back soon .
The best place to have nice and healthy breakfast in Newport. Cappuccino and eggs benedict were both delicious! Definitely worth a try :)

Our first visit to "The Secret Garden" amazing food and plentiful, plenty of Vegan options too, owner and staff were very pleasant and helpful, can't wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

Really friendly service, lush hot chocolate, gorgeous cheesecake and Belgian waffle, so glad I had half an hour to kill and popped in. Seems like a little gem of a place.
This certainly was a secret to us as we came across this randomly today and then found out that it has been there for twelve years. Really good food with quality ingredients. The owner and staff were really friendly and this has a lovely atmosphere to take your time over a meal and some coffee or drinks.
Great food at a reasonable price. We started with two iced coffees which were amazing, followed by the brunch which again was very good.
Staff were very welcoming and polite, would definitely come here again. 5/5
Cute little cafe, with a very simple brunch menu.
Everything was okay. Nothing blew us away. Pancakes weren't the best I've had and frozen fruit was used for toppings.
Best part was the sausage that came with the full brunch.

What can I. This place is a real hidden gem. Fantastic food and service with a real appreciation for the food they serve. Had a prolonged conversation with the chef in their beautiful outdoor garden seating and his passion for delivering top class cuisine is inspiring. 100% booking to visit again, would recommend visiting on their tapas night for a romantic setting and great food.

Wonderful atmosphere, great selection of funky music and the food is excellent - the deserts and specials in particular. I regularly go to unwind with a book, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who'll listen long enough. Treat yourself - come to this place!

A brilliant breakfast and banging tunes coming out of the kitchen. we were sat in the actual secret garden. Loved the singing chef!
A nice little cafe situated inside the secret garden centre. Has a little selection of foods and drink but not a large amount. The seating area is small and can be busy on some days but the outside section is nice with good views. Worth visiting the actual garden centre first then making your way around to the cafe for refreshments.

Went for breakfast this morning and it was nice - my only feedback would be that both my fried eggs were hard ( I appreciate this may not consistently be the case as it was my first visit) & we were not offered a choice of fried or poached when ordering - I would always opt for poached. Also the sausage didn't seem of the highest quality. Having said that it was a good breakfast but just could have need that little bit better in my opinion. I will be back however as the burgers look like they're worth a go!
Great food, a real gem in the heart of Newport! Great looking menu with good options for veggies and vegans. My chicken burger was juicy and my wife's halumi burger was packed with flavour. No high chair or changing facility, but the service was good and accommodating. If you want more business you have to attract the mummy crowd!
Felt like spoiling myself with some good food and from experience this place always comes through and boy did it tonight. Aside from the wonderful service, amazing cooking times and the food... Oooof. Had a Filly burger, dirty fries and garlic bread. Perfectly cooked, amazingly tasty and lovingly put together. Well worth every penny. Thank you.

We definitely weren't disappointed the steak bavette was absolutely delicious and the waffles were amazing.
Unfortunately due to lockdown we won't be able to return for a while but they are going to start delivering and we will be definitely ordering.

We were in Newport just for the day. We had some amazing burgers, coffee and cake. The burger was well seasoned and perfectly cooked, all the sides were excellent, freshly cooked chips, and homemade coleslaw. And the cheesecake was just to die for. The staff is very friendly and the place is just lovely decorated. If I was living nearby I would come back every day.
Don't be put off by the shabby street where you will find the entrance to this gem. The staff take pride in artfully assembling gorgeous meals with fresh and largely local ingredients. They cook meat as beautifully as vegan specials. They cater well to a range of dietary needs. Gluten free, dairy free or have an allergy - no problem, you will find a range of delicious options here. They even welcome well-behaved dogs and have a special companion animal menu. Staff are lovely. If you want to treat yourself or treat a group with divergent tastes, this is the place for you
