We went for a meal on the last night of our holiday, we wish we'd tried sooner. The food was great, staff were friendly and helpful. The biggest plus for us it is dog friendly. My mother is a fussy eater and she said it was the best meal out of the whole holiday. Can't wait for next holiday in Newport Pembrokeshire for another meal.

Went there for my husbands birthday, the food was beautiful, the staff were lovely and helpful and the atmosphere was really nice! (even being busy they went out their way to bring him a cake and sing happy birthday which was really nice of them!) 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Had Sunday lunch here and evening meal. Meals were excellent and service brilliant. Staff are really friendly. Having spent the week in Newport and eaten out every day The Castle is definitely the best. Highly recommended.

Delicious chicken & vegetable pie and incredible cheesecake. I could taste the quality of the dairy in that incredible cheesecake, one of the best desserts I had in Wales. I had the ribeye as well, which was good but not as good as the chicken pot pie. I also appreciated the bar going out of their way to combine my small coins into large ones. Above and beyond service!

Warning — Would highly recommend booking early for this venue. We popped in for a beer or 2 and all the tables inside were booked. Very nice Pub, sat outside and watched the World go by.

I ate here twice recently and both times the food was very good. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the place has a good atmosphere. I would recommended the Sea Dog - spiced, battered haddock in a ciabatta with all the trimmings. I could have eaten it twice if I hadn’t been so full!

Absolutely superb! Couldn't fault any of it. Food- cooked by the owner, Alison, varied, imaginative & extremely tasty. 95% of food is sourced locally. Great guest beer. Service- all staff friendly & informed but not intrusive. Bedrooms- decorated beautifully & very comfy. Glyn, the owner, is a great guy. Friendly & welcoming. They only have 3 bedrooms so book early! Huge beer garden. Closed Monday & Tuesday at the moment. Closed 3 weeks in January for the owners annual holiday. But all in all Glyn & Alison will go the extra mile to make you welcome. Well worth a visit...or 2 or 3!!

Spent a very pleasurable Saturday afternoon and night there. The staff and owners were all very friendly and helpful. A small car park to dine of the inn has 3 reserved spots for residents to park their cars. There are 3 letting rooms all of which are family rooms, with two singles and double bed. All are ensuite and nicely appointed and decorated. Our room had a shower over the bath and was spotless. As were the bed linen and towels. Down stairs are 2 bar areas and a lovely dining room. Outside seating is both covered and open and quite spacious. This old inn is very dog friendly, with a doggie menu and watering bowls aplenty. As the inn is situated in the center of town the shops etc are all very handy. There is a bus stop right outside the property with regular service to Cardigan and Fishguard. The Castle offers lunch and dinner dining with a good menu featuring vegan, vegetarian and trad food. We were treated to a lovely ham salad sandwich at lunch and a very tasty and well cooked and served dinner. After a good night's sleep we were happily served with a lovely breakfast by the cheerful landlord Glyn. We hope to return soon.

Lovely atmosphere and food, super accommodating in the bar area for dogs! Slightly slow service but we were seated just after a large table of 8 and were a table of 7 ourselves.

Great and varied evening menu. Dog friendly and a sheltered weather proof beer garden in a central location. Staff friendly and helpful, plus good varied selection of drinks. 😁👍
