El Huichol

Holy shmokes, eat at this place. What a find! The most delicious Mexican food. The best meal we have had in a long time! Something different, fresh, great staff and just absolutely delicious. Our only complaint is it was too more-ish, we couldn’t stop ordering more! Definitely worth popping a tip jar on the bar :)

"Even a thousand words will never describe the true state of affairs." You can write and write about this place... only positive things! But still, when you come and try their exquisite food, you'll realize that the reviews were too modest! I have no idea what people who came here before were complaining about! The service is very good, prices reasonable for a tourist town, and the dishes are sensational! We dined there for 5 days of our stay... we came for different breakfasts every day, and sometimes for lunch! I love Mexican cuisine, and I didn't think I'd find Mexico in Newquay! The bouquet of flavors in every dish is incredibly developed, with original spices and those wonderful freshly squeezed juices! The food is truly top-notch, and we highly recommend it to everyone!

Tacos are amazing ! Fish tacos with samphire brilliant, also loved the Chickpea and the chicken tacos. Tostada where where top notch black bean with deep smokey flavours cut with radish and beetroot good times. The sweet potato tostada was a favourite with a delicious sauce under the potatoes and a salsa over them Delicious.

Everything was just ok, ate here expecting a lot more. Flavour was somewhat bland and to get additional toppings (barely a tablespoon worth) you’ll need to cough up an addition 50p per topping. If you don’t get sauces to compliment it’s bland/ dry. Sour cream and salsa goes a long way, it’s a shame that this isn’t included unlike most Mexican places I’ve ever eaten at. We had a variety of food from this stand - the salad I will say is awesome and the main reason for the additional star in the review. Expensive but no different to all the other vendors in this location.

The bar and set up where it is is amazing. Food was OK not overwhelmed, certainly needed extras which I will know for next time. Personally I would have preferred to pay more for more ingredients and flavour in the taco. I know it was available as extras but being 1st time I wasn't aware of what yhe basic included which made it slightly bland
