Evans Cafe - Newtown - Photo album

This bakery is a little gem. Freshly baked bread. A large choice of freshly made filled baps. Hot and cold freshly baked pies and pasties. A very large selection of cakes. The Chelsea buns are divine and a must if you pay a visit. The staff are friendly and polite and more than happy to help.
A great selection of handmade cakes available that are fresh and delicious. You can also sit in and have a hot drink and something more substantial to eat. Very clean and tidy and an excellent place to visit for a snack.
Best mince pies in the country and I have tasted a few in my 75yrs. Quality pastry and quality filling. Available all year. Bob Farmer, Shrewsbury.
Only 4 stars as breakfast was really nice and enjoyed it. Just would have been nice if toast had arrived the same time or just after breakfast was served and on a larger plate rather than being served on a plate 1 inch bigger than a teaplate, my beans fell on the table while cutting into bacon. Will
Great cafe, staff very friendly, service super fast also, made for a super start to the day. Definitely coming again....👍
Cakes are great especially Chelsea buns even though they have got very small compared what they used to be, by next favourite is the cherry and coconut cake but I wouldn't say no to any of their cakes, sandwiches are very good too. Coffee is hit and miss depending who makes it, very often the milk i
Lovely little cafe! Always visited this cafe since I was little, they always have a great selection of cakes and bakes, along with other savoury snacks. If you want to try a cake I suggest trying the Chelsea Buns or Custard Slices, they are unmatched.
LONG LONG STANDING FAMILY RUN BUSINESS IN NEWTOWN TOWN CENTRE
This is a fantastic Bakery shop great cake , sandwiches and coffee to take away
I had some mince pies gifted to me from a friend after I shared my quest of finding the very best mince pies. I think I may have just found them, and they are made with love at Evans Cafè ! They are packaged in a lovely Christmas box and there were 6 large mince pies in there. The pastry was light a
I came with my elderly lady friend to eat here. We usually have a small breakfast in Morrison's, but due to a change in appointments we cane here. Only a big breakfast available, but they catered for us by providing 2 small breakfasts. Not as good as Morrison's, but I'm sure other food is good. The
A friendly patisserie with take away service at present. Freshly baked bread cakes and savouries with quality bake. Traditional Italian family business always feel welcome.
Lovely pit stop to fill hungry tummys. Jacket potatoes run out towards the end of the working day so grab them quickly! Nice, very reasonably priced food. Friendly staff.
Lovely staff, lovely food, i just feel that £2.20 for a fried egg bap is well over priced! One egg one roll, 🤔🤔 £2.50 for sausage but at least you get 2 sausages, 😅
The best Chelsea buns I have ever tasted... And I'm not a cake fan.. The coffee was better than costas
Proper 'old fashioned', independent cafe. Much rather go to a place like Evans than a soulless chain, like Starbucks. We both had a hot drink and a pasty, lovely hot food and excellent drinks.
Recently moved back from France where they know a thing or two about pastries but I have to say this cake shop is equal if not ahead. Pleasant staff and good food. We call every visit to the town.
Evans is a Newtown institution. If you don't know about its giant Chelsea buns (the biggest in Britain) then you haven't really been to Newtown. Also great value for money, lovely staff and with everything else in Newtown closing it is the last place a lot of people have to meet
