Jessy's Taco Bistro

After a cold and rainy day on the Field Hockey field, Jessy's provided a welcome respite for our family. It could have been a warmer inside. We were greeted promptly and with a smile. We sat down immediately. Waters, chips and salsa were on the table within 3 minutes. It would have been nice if the chips were warm or at least a bit more fresh. They were decent enough and hit the spot with the salsas provided. Careful though! You only get the first basket free. Our entrees came out within 15 minutes. They were hot and most welcome on the cold day. All in all a good experience and I would recommend it for low-key dining.

Less than 25 hours ago (yesterday evening/night) I went to Jessy's Taco Bistro (in Norfolk Virginia) some time after I got off work to order and pick up some food for my husband. The employee handling my order was very upbeat and pleasant to be around and I received my food order in a timely manner, plus luckily my husband and I liked our food (my hubby selected the Chimichanga Fajita (with chicken with oaxaca cheese rice and beans ) while I selected the fried shrimp tacos that came with corn tortillas.

We were actually waiting to eat at "Lil bit Nola" but the wait was about an hour so they suggested we get drinks at Jessys while we waited. We thought this was a great idea since it was super hot outside. We are seated pretty quickly and it's not very busy. We order margaritas and quickly notice we are sweating. Turns out the AC was broken. Ok fine, we can deal with that its just drinks. We finish a round of margaritas when my nephew freaks out and tells me he needs to take my 2 year old to the bathroom to wash his hands because he just touched a MOUSE! We were in a large booth right when you enter to the left. It's old and falling apart and there's a huge gap where your back rests. Photos included for better understanding. The manager first tried to say she would give us a discount and she was super passive about it but after my husband and cousin spoke to her she comped all the drinks. We won't be going back.
