Monarch Recovery Sports Grill

This place has potential to become my favorite sports bar in town!!! Great food and lots of TV’s showing just about every major sport. However, the waiters/waitresses need to do a better job attending customers. I shouldn’t have to flag one of them to take my order after being ignore for 15-20 minutes. If a customer is sitting with a menu in front, that’s usually a good indication that their order have not been taken. Please train your waiters/waitresses to look for those clues. Just saying.

Had dinner tonight before a concert next door. Everything was wonderful! Food was great! Service was the best. Vlad was our waiter and took great care of us. When he realized it was my birthday, he brought out cheesecake and a fancy drink from the bar. Cedric made a point to check on us and make sure all was good. Once again, the food was great but it is the service that makes this one a winner.

Friendly atmosphere, decent bite to eat, full service bar. I've always had my order correct, gotten drinks in a timely manner, etc... Keep in mind that it's a relatively small bar, so if it's packed in there... yes it's going to take a little longer. Anyhow, Derek/Cedric are both very friendly bartenders. Cheers.

I use to love this restaurant, but since the manager Cedric left. The customer service has gone down hill tremendously. The bartender Derrick acts like he don't want to be there. I literally had to wait 20 minutes for him to come back to the bar to refill my drink and take my order because he was busy people watching out the window. None of the waitresses walks the floor to greet the customers when they walk in. They always got to be called from the back.The food is good but the atmosphere is so unwelcoming. Since ya'll are opening one up in Chesapeake. You should consider shutting this one down. It's barely surviving.

Danielle was an absolute friendly waitress however 45 minutes to get nachos, unacceptable. Which is unfortunate since they were pretty good. Had to ask for drinks with less ice because rum and coke was packed with ice to cause it to melt and water down quicker. Tight space, avoid center tables you will be knocked into, not intentional but because of how compacted it is .Otherwise, clean and decent ..just put your order in right away and except to wait. We actually cancelled our nachos however when I asked for the check she said she was taking it off but showed up with the nachos in a to go box and still charged me for them but she did apologized. I'm conflicted because I thought she was great in the beginning. Hopefully your experience will not be delayed. When I went there it was busy but NOT packed.

slowest service i’ve ever experienced anywhere. took over an hour to order food with 3 tables in the restaurant. had to go to the bar to get drink refills. order messed up when it arrived. when we asked the bartender for our server after not seeing her for 20-30 minutes, she came out and apologized, that she “made a huge mess in the back and was cleaning it up”. overall we were there for almost 2 hours. ridiculous. food was decent but the service ruined everything. will not return.

I had to edit my review from 5 stars to one and waited a month and 5 visits to make up my mind that this place went from amazing to horrible with just the replacement of one person. The previous manager Cedric was on point and the new manager treats you as if you’re an intruder when you eat here. All I get is one word answers, asked “what do you want” for my order... extremely rude. But when an attractive young female comes in he’s all over them, it’s super creepy. The food isn’t bad, but that wasn’t why I used to come here, now the service is horrible and after giving it multiple visits and their chance to redeem themselves this will be my last visit unless I hear about this guy leaving or being fired. Went from a regular customer to never again.

This place is a joke. We stopped by a few times during the week while staying at the hotel so we had several experiences. They were sold out of most everything the first time we went. There second time, there was an event across the street so the restaurant was full. There was only one waitress and one bartender. It was a mess. On both occasions the waitresses were not familiar with the menu and the drinks. I do not recommend coming here.
