Good hole in the wall. They are not the best tacos I've ever had in comparison to the ones in California but this will definitely satisfy your cravings. The ladies were nice and hard working. I would recommend!

Been looking for a legit taco shop since leaving home. Lots of Mexican restaurants but no taco shops near us. A coworker recommended this place to my husband, so we made the 20min drive and ate here so our food wouldn’t be cold and soggy. 10/10 highly recommend, will definitely be eating here again. I got the California burrito, my husband got the barbacoa plate. Everything was very good, if we lived closer I’d eat here regularly.

Well it's not quite California taqueria because well it's in Norfolk BUT if this was a little hole in the wall in SoCal I'd come back. If you've had SoCal Mexican and you like it that's all you need to read. If you've been east coast Mexican food all your life give this a shot WITH an open mind because SoCal is different. In my opinion both styles are good but it's hard to compare. This place has FRESH , I mean making them while I'm ordering, tortillas. Food is cooking as you walk in. It's a hole in the wall place and those are my favorite! We had all the picture below and ate everything! Cali burrito was good. Fries were good. The Carne asada was excellent! Barbacoa taco amazing!

Best Mexican food in the area. Super yum. They never disappoint. I think I've had every dish on the menu, and recommend it all.

Their food is OK but don't order takeout from them. Even going in person to speak with them they weren't willing to work it out. My BF was very upset they took our $50 payment even though we cancelled our order. The only thing we could do was cancel because they changed our food out to something more expensive without contacting us. Then they said, if we wanted our food we would have to wait for the other orders to be finished and place a new order because all they did was make the one item we didn't want, that they swapped out for, and then stopped cooking everything else. They also said they wouldn't refund the order or continue with it because it was cancelled. So we drove over there just to be told to our faces we weren't getting our food after they messed up the order and they were keeping our money and if we wanted our meal we had to pay them more money. Abysmal customer service!! Luckily the app was able to refund us, but they blamed it all on the app. The app didn't force them to substitute an item without our consent. My BF has sworn never to order from them again. This wasn't the first time ordering from them either, we live nearby so it was easy and convenient, but you can't help it if they want to alienate their customers. 🤷

Super good food. Order the carne asada fries spicy with an El Rey burrito and you are eating good. Prices have gone up but it's very worth it. Fun staff in a small location but I've made a 45m drive to come to this place before!

It's a hole in the wall type of place. But honestly, I've never - and I mean never.. gotten better Mexican food anywhere else. The service wasn't anything special, not that this joint needed it. The food though, was absolutely fantastic. My boyfriend got pollo guisado tacos and got carnitas... we got them as plates, meaning with refried beans and rice - we added sour cream and cheese as well. Now our total was larger than we had expected, but the food was so good the price was worth it. I don't think I could get tacos from a place like José Taquilas again, you pay about the same getting from José Taquilas, but the food in comparison is just a weak imitation.

I buy there all the time being that its local and i live in the neighborhood however, they need to improve their customer service skills. Just purchased food and they weren't hospitable at all. i asked for a particular item when ordered through phone. When i came to pick up, the pico de gallo was NOT in the bag that i asked specifically for. instead of just ringing me up, she told me that it was a 7 dollar minimum after i paid 30 dollars and and asked for the side specifically.
