A wonderful little hidden gem. Lovely place, quite, relaxing, nice atmosphere. No loud background music which was wonderful for my grandparents as we were able to chat. Butternut Squash Soup = fantastic, stunning, simply brilliant. Mostly fish dishes on the menu, one chicken dish & one steak dish. Staff simply were excellent, can't fault any of them. Glad I live locally to this place : ) BZ

What a delight to have lunch with my siblings today in the Restaurant. My sister has raved about the quality of the food and today I certainly agreed with her.The provision of alternatives for me being gluten intolerant was superb...I was even able to enjoy the tasty tapenade like the rest. We've booked again for our Christmas get together but I will be there before that! Definitely worth a visit.

superb food at great prices. Fantastic service and hospitality. Its a great small restaurant with a small but quite diverse menu that changes frequently. The best mussel dish I've ever tasted, and the puy lentils with venison I had here actually made me like and start cooking lentils myself. Its lunches and dinners are fantastic value compared to similar standard restaurants in Edinburgh, making it worth the trip if your in Edinburgh (close location to the North Queensferry station) and making it a bargain if your located in fife.

Fabulous birthday lunch yesterday! Perfect menu for me - the veggie! - but husband loved the duck & the cheeseboard impressed our teenage son. Discrete service was appreciated & I have told loads of others today what a hidden gem this place is :-). Haste me back!

Very nice restaurant. Great food and although small (hence the Wee) it's nice setting, and staff great also.

There aren't many options for great food in a relaxed atmosphere during the frantic times of Rfinburgh Festival but we were lucky enough to be recommended the wee restaurant. Set in te sleepy town of North queensferry and jammed between a few "pub food" establishments you could easy miss the refined and exacting dining on offer. We all couldnt resist choosing different meals and loved the opportunity to share and try each others - the terrine is elegant but the piccalilli was fab. My main course of monkfish with curried lentils worked very well and the splash of samphire and fennel balanced the curried sauce very well Service was attentive but also casual enough to make us relax on a Sunday afternoon. We will be back. Hidden Jem.

Wee restaurant, big heart. Ate here last week, cooks fresh Scottish food.

Menu a bit small, but what there is, is cooked perfectly. The mussels were great, along with the brisket.

Fixed price menu, with a supplement for a steak. Wine reasonably priced.

Best restaurant in the area.

Fantastic as always. We've been to the Wee Restaurant 3 or 4 times now. This weekend was a surprise trip for my wife's birthday and it was as good as ever. I had smoked haddock and saffron risotto and aged rib-eye steak and cheese, and my wife had aromatic pork belly salad, spinach and something galette and bramble clafoutis. All great. Only grumble was that we ordered a bottle of Pomerol as a special treat but unfortunately the cheaper (and still very nice) Bordeaux on the wine list was brought and I didn't spot it until it was open. The service was very friendly and the maitre d' was very competent but the other waiting staff seemed a little bit chaotic. But didn't detract from a great meal.

Step forward The Wee Restaurant, on the Forth’s northern bank in North Queensferry, where high quality Scottish produce, served simply, is on offer in full view of those bridges. The table for two in the window is the one to nab and we settled in here to debate the menu – Shetland mussels or smoked Orkney beef?

The menu is essentially French but there is real focus on Scottish ingredients particularly locally sourced fish and seafood. The ever presents of the menu are, for first course, mussels cooked in a creamy sauce with bacon, and for main a succulent rib eye served with slowed cooked tomato (always deliciously sweet and simply outstanding) and varying types of potatoes. For me, while the mussels are delicious, the portion size is just too large to allow you to fully savour the main courses so I often have to give these a miss.

The heavy snowfall in Scotland this December took us all by surprise. There was lots of it. So much that it caused all sorts of of trouble: airports closed, trains delayed and people not being able to get to work or get on with their everyday lives. We had a table booked for our birthday dinner at The Wee Restaurant , in North Queensferry, and on a Sunday night we walked into an empty restaurant. Everybody else had canceled their reservations because of the weather! A table of two appeared later on and I h

Went here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon, shared the scallops for starters with some sourdough bread. My partner then had the ribye steak & I had the lamb. Everything was cooked perfectly, food was delicious & the woman serving us was lovely. We were both too full for a dessert but had a nice latte to finish off with. Nice quiet wee restaurant, pleasant atmosphere & beautiful location, we'll definitely be back

Superb food and service in a quiet and intimate little restaurant. We had two courses, the mains (venison) perfectly cooked and presented, with excellent flavour combinations. Desserts - the sorbets were excellent with punchy fruit flavours and perfect texture. Cheeseboard had a selection of superb cheeses at just the right temperature. Service was spot on, friendly, efficient, excellent. I've used the word excellent a lot in this review. Rightly so!

Absolutely incredible little restaurant! Decor was lovely, food was possibly the best meal out I’ve ever had. My wife said the crème brûlée was the best she’s ever had (and she does always eat it at a restaurant). Mussels were really amazing. Couldn’t recommend more (Edit) just to add that my wife had 0% gin and Prosecco and was very impressed with both.

We do enjoy the Wee Restaurant in N Queensferry. Just a short hop on the train from Edinburgh and then a wee walk to the waterfront. Restaurant is calm and unpretentious. Good range of clientele when we were there. Sign its for everyone. Food is wholesome and flavourable. No doubt something for everyone. Meat, fish and veggie look like they are catered for. Desserts for me have always been a winner. Good range of specials - including cocktails! Staff are friendly and unfussy. Get the feeling we will be back again.

Fresh Langoustines caught the same morning were excellent. The charcuterie plate and chili green beans were quite tasty. Blackberry bramble was quite nice and I have never tasted anything like the lemon meringue cocktail with Frangelico and Limoncello. Service from Ethan was top notch.

Truly sensational - excellent staff environment, love the scallops, venison, and apple tarte tatin. I’m surprised that this restaurant isn’t Michelin starred!
