Where else can you get great food, atmosphere, aeroplanes including a spitfire at close hand. Marvelous venue.

Getting there means having to travel around the taxiway watching out for aircraft travelling around. Be prepared. Essentially, continue past Wings Cafe on your left and go all the way around until travelling in the other direction. Rosey Lea is very clean, tables are well spaced and the outdoor area offers a great view of the taxiway so interesting to sit there watching the activity. The staff, whilst a little inexperienced (think walking past a vacated or even occupied table and not clearing off dishes) are all very friendly and charming. There is a good mix of dishes for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs. The food was quite good and tasty. Asked for some Tabasco or chilli sauce and initially told there was only chilli jam (aka chutney) but the waiter did locate something which was really very, very good. If you go for tea, there is a large range and cakes on offer with GF options. A negative was the serving of sweet potato chips, although perfectly cooked, being exorbitantly overpriced at £6.50 and even made worse by the portion size. No normal potato chips are on offer. It would be great if a few of the tables outside offered umbrellas for those who cannot be in the direct sunshine for too long. Overall, quite a pleasant place and we would certainly return.

Nice little cafe located within North Weald. This is one of three. You have to drive into the entrance of the airport and then it's 2 miles around. Easy parking. Access for everyone. Dogs welcome on a lead. Food it's good quality a little bit more expensive but good. Hot and cold drinks available. Breakfast is £13 but very big. A good view of take off and landings. If the weather is nice then it's a lovely spot. Private function room available. Overall a good experience and worth a visit for something relaxing and slightly different.

Please don't tell anyone how marvellous this place is. Just rock up and have a scrumptious breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. No faff, no pretentiousness, just super food and lovely service. Keep it a secret, we can't let just anyone know, it's so very very good shhh!!

Great visit & excellent brunch. The Squadron ticks all the boxes for a (flying!) visit. Whether you arrive by car/bike or plane you'll find an excellent choice of food and drinks provided by friendly staff. A lot of care has been taken to keep a historic feel to the buildings which are very well appointed. You won't be short of aircraft to see too either in the outside viewing area or through the cafe's panoramic window. Recommend a visit.

Situated airside on North Weald airfield, this is a great, if slightly expensive, treat. A pot of Tea and a sandwich (served with a salad) will set you back about £12-£13, but sitting outside a stone's throw from a parked Dakota and with a Spitfire taxying past you as you eat, well; priceless!

Gorgeous food, outstanding. The premises are all the way round the airfield and looks like a shelter. Crockery is very pretty, as is the food presentation I have had a salad which was plentiful and filling, salt beef sandwich, the coleslaw is very creamy and delicious. I have visited 3 times now and also tried the chocolate brownie it's very large, i took half home, it's very rich and so amazing. Friends tried the cake and were singing its praises. You need to try this place, thoroughly recommend it. There is an outside seating area where you can watch the light aircraft and helicopters take off and land.

A nice experience here slightly let down by the wasps that wanted to invade our lunch. Obviously this is out of the owner's control so I'm not going to penalize based on mother nature. We came on a glorious sunny day so this is to be expected. It's pretty cool having an afternoon lunch and seeing some planes/helicopters taking off. It's quite a unique experience. I would recommend this for anyone who is local. Reasonably priced as well. I will go back given the opportunity.

To find the cafe you have to enter the airfield by the control tower. There is a barrier. We drove past it a couple of times looking for it. The man gave us a map of the airfield and we loved being able to see all the aircrafts. There is x3 cafes to choose from once on the airfield. Wings cafe with seating inside and outside. No frills, x2 play parks, limited view of runway. Rosey Lea - loose leaf tea, China and up market, seating inside and out and a view of the runway. Red Bus Cafe- take away and outside seating. Rosey Lea- it's stunning inside and out. Up market and the prices and quality reflects this. Wish we had lunch here instead of the Wings cafe lol. We had tea which was loose leaf in a bone China tea pot, mini milk jug and cup and saucer. Cakes looked delicious, my son had a brookie (half brownie half cookie) and my husband had a slice of Biscoff. Both were huge and delicious. Service was friendly and prompt and it's table service. The garden area is fenced in and perfect for kids to explore with a view of the runway. Highly recommend.

DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS VIA WEALD HALL LANE. Entry is only via the airfield by the control tower. Great views of planes taking off and landing especially at weekends. We were treated to a Spitfire! Food, service and atmosphere great.

You can't lose with this place. Pretty tea sets for the girls, light and classic planes for the guys. Plus good nosh and cake for all. Note: you have to drive onto the airfield to get to the cafe. Google maps sent us off in completely the wrong direction. Gate security were kind enough to give us a map to get to the cafe.

Lovely atmosphere, was busy and had to wait for a table but the food was worth it! I had a sausage, cheese and caramelised onion toastie, followed by a piece of Biscoff cake and an iced coffee. Staff were really friendly and accommodating.

Love this place, great service and great food whilst watching the planes and helicopters take off. It's great for kids who can stand outside feet from taxing planes but safely fenced off. Tables outside and inside. Takes a bit of finding on the airfield as you have to drive right the way round the inside perimeter road. Drive carefully and obey the signs as you are on taxi strips and cross the end of the runway.

Great tea room and salad restaurant on North weald airfield. Had a good bacon sandwich with egg on granary bread and English breakfast tea in bone china. The salads looked great
