Fantastic fish and chips, had the haddock. Faultless. Really nice venue as well, the music was just right, the cider was great and the food was superb. Can't think of the last time I had such a nice fish and chips. Server was friendly and efficient

Food is great. Staff even better. Everything was good. The only thing I would change it's a payment methods. They don't take cash which is not the best situation if you're carer and need to pay in cash. If the cash payment will be available option then I'll add 5th star.

Good vibe and modern setting if a little overpriced. Lots of TVs for watching sports and a fish and chip restaurant at the back (can also eat in the bar).
Not fantastic for vegans: it's chips or bust! At least they're cooked in vegetable oil.
The beer selection is decent but there aren't any local microbrews on tap. Would be good to have a rotating local guest ale.

Great place for watching the football. Drinks were really over priced though (£6 for a bottle of cider is quite steep for students).

We had high hopes for this place!
It appears they serve award winning pies but by the time we discovered that we'd already ordered what we came for... fish and chips and we were disappointed.
The price point is higher than other fish and chip places so I expected more than standard fish and chips.
It was slightly below standard.
The main issue was the flavor of the fish, when we compared our experience here to other places like George's in Nottingham that charge a higher price for their food and service and consistently meet expectations, I believe an adjustment should be considered until they fix the flavor issue.
THE MAD ALEXANDERS
A 50/50 review. We came in on Friday 18th of September and we scanned the covid application form to identify ourselves, we asked for 4 coca colas and the barman told us to go through to the restaurant to be served, we sat down and looked at the menu, my wife then noticed that it was card payment only. If we knew that we would of went else where as we only had cash, but the manager let us away with it but only if we would accept that there would be no change, the staff were excellent and it was very covid friendly, and clean, my wife and myself ordered the fish and chip meal, and my son and daughter opted for the kids sausage and chip meals, my wife said not to worry as she heard lots of good news regarding the food, But I was a little disappointed with the size of the portions it was very small, and for £50:00 there wasn't a lot to show for the money, a small portion of curry sauce which was adequate for some of the chips for dipping, an O.A.P sized portion of Fish and chips. To compare prices to a normal chip shop with better quality you would of had the same meal for under £20 including drinks. Bearing in mind that there was no bread & butter that came with the meal, it was just the box standard meal nothing more, nothing less, for that sort of price you would expect something a little more exciting. The food came quick, the temperature of the food was excellent and the service was good, the only downside was portion size, food presentation, and lack of originality. It was my daughters 13th birthday the day before and as she couldn't do nothing we treated her to Lighthouse as a treat, we travelled 25 miles to get to it, I think she was also a little let down but we promised her that we would make it upto her.
So here we go points

Arrived 10 minutes into the opening evening to a very warm welcome. Lighthouse is TOTALLY different from any other place, it's open, airy, modern and almost beach like in decor.
Service was superb with food taking 9 minutes from order to plate. The food was fresh, tasty and piping hot, batter crisp and not a hint of grease. Portions perfect size and extremely good value for money. I can not recommend this highly enough for a quick bite or an evening out with friends, they even serve champagne!!!

The fresh nautical interior is cool
Came here for food when it opened and have taken every opportunity to return since. The food was awesome. Decent portions and great prices. I normally stick to the same beer but with so much choice I had to sample and I've got a few new favourites, the staff know what they are talking about and have a real welcoming vibe. First sports bar I've been to that has enough TVs that it doesn't matter where you sit. Any seat in the house has a decent view. Overall great service. Great food. Great beer and great entertainment. See you guys soon

Traditional British twist to a Sports Bar/Diner
We visited on the first Friday after opening, the bar looked fresh and welcoming, although still a few finishing touches to the building waiting to be completed.
There is a large bar area with more TVs on the wall than I have seen in some Currys. Tonight was European football so it was noisy as you would expect. The bright and shiny tiled walls probably amplifying this a little.
The simple seated eating area is at the back of the bar, partitioned by a wire wall, allowing visibility of the digital media in the bar area.
The area is relaxed, but maybe not for a romantic meal for two, as you are absorbed into the overall bar atmosphere.
What I found refreshing was the Fish and chip shop menu. Fish, various Pies and sausages with chips and mushy peas etc.
The menu is a simple alternative to the burger bar, prices very reasonable and the Fish and Meat pie we had were excellent , I particularly enjoyed the minty mushy peas.
Service was very attentive and friendly the food was served quickly.
Overall I would say worth a try, as it really is something different on the norm.

Don’t order through deliveroo unless you want tasteless dry food and to have to call up to request salt and vinegar on your chips.
Marc Wilson
Food was tasty & cooked well , though fish portion looked small .2 x cod & chips & minted mushy peas £20.00
Price of a large coke & a small coke from tap was a bit stiff at £6. which was more than I paid for a premium larger & a bottled soft drink prior.
Surroundings where clean & service OK
Would go again .

10 out of 10 for the fish and chips. Great atmosphere , lovely friendly service. Just dropped a star for the music, too loud, to have a conversation. This was 17:30. But that's a minor criticism. The food and the pub are great . Definitely be back.

Absolutely loved this restaurant that we visited today. Perfectly cooked cod, fantastic chips and Lighthouse Special sauce is a winner. Justice the chef is amazing. We travelled from Oxford to do shopping and popped in and cannot fault it at all. Thankyou so much. We will return.

Had take-out cod and chips today, was absolutely lovely. Nice light batter and good chips, served with a fresh chunk of lemon. Really enjoyed, good prices, will definitely return :)

The pub in general is alright, I go for the football, lots of screens, . You get 3 stars because the beer prices are absolutely outragerous. I'll pay £5 for a high quality craft beer, i.e. Cloudwater (500ml cans btw), but £5 for Meantime (4.1%) is ridiculous. I was offered some sort of membership (£10) to get 33% off, which would bring prices closer to what they should be. Why not just make them that price all the time, no membership required. I wonder if many people opt to go elsewhere, like Pickering Phipps, to save £1-£1.50. I certainly will. Lower your prices, or bring in better quality craft beer, and I will return. Thanks for reading

While it all looks nice inside and out. I was dissapointed with a half pot of tea, and dirty cups, and fish and chips that was overpriced and tasted bland. The small portions and poor quality for the money paid is not on.

Cannot really review the food but - Not impressed today we visited you a couple of weeks ago and had a lovely meal and lovely service. Came today Sat 18th 1:50pm after travelling 40 mins from Deanshanger. To be told sorry we can't serve you as we have no staff so was told they weren't serving after 2pm. So disappointed

The ultimate comfort food. Classic Fish & Chips, great value and fantastic quality. Crispy batter and so so tender haddock, beautifully cooked chips with homemade tartar, just devine!
The BF had the most amazing pie, he left with the biggest smile!
And only a walk away, plus they do take out too! The best!
