China Wok

It's been a long time since I have visited China Wok, so I decided to stop in and give it another shot. The selling point before was their convenient lunch buffet. That's gone now. I checked the menu in the window and decided to get a lunch special. Once inside I found out there isn't a lunch menu anymore. Full priced dinner menu for lunch. For what I paid for my lunch, I could have had 2 lunch meals at another local Chinese restaurant. I would have minded the price, but the food wasn't too good. My chicken was over cooked. I ordered my food extra extra spicy. It was AMAZINGLY bland. To top it off, they told me they didn't do chopsticks, my favorite part of eating Chinese food. It could be a language barrier, but they seemed annoyed that I had asked for them in the first place. China Wok had a lot of traffic while I was there, so maybe I caught them on an off day... When they were in a bad mood... And the fryer was turned up too high... And they were out of chopsticks.

I LOVE all types of Asian food, and I eat almost anything... BUT, the food I got today was not good. The rice tasted fake and greasy, with no actual flavor, and the chicken didn't even taste like chicken. It was super chewy with an occasional burnt piece of I don't know what in it. Definitely the worst Asian Restaurant I've ever tasted (and I've been to tons). Will never go back. I literally lost my appetite, and am still semi-nauseous from eating that food.

Service is always friendly, foods tastes good enough and has never made me sick. I see reviews complaining about the good not tasting good or authentic, the food here is good but it's also very inexpensive you can't compare this place to a 5 star restaurant but for take out or causual dine in it's all you need: fast, friendly, sanitary, filling, and good tasting.
