Review Lord Nelson Inn - Norton Sub Hamdon

I've visited this pub several times and the staff have been unfailingly helpful and cheerful. Not fine dining, but good, hearty, tasty, generously portioned food. The sort of pub I might move house for someday just so I can live within walking distance. Speaking of which...walkers, dogs, kids, everybody welcome in this lovely village pub.

I had Sunday lunch in the Lord Nelson with my parents. The food was lovely, beef was cooked to perfection, crispy roast potatoes, loads of gravy. A perfect Sunday roast in my opinion. Would have loved and stayed to listen to the live music but have to drive home!!

Staying locally, we had evening dinner all 3 days we stayed in the area. Great food, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. This is our second time staying in Little Norton Mill, just a 10 minute walk to this pub and just as good as other nights eating here. Will definitely be returning. Thank you.

What a fabulous village pub! This pub is very popular amongst locals, with great beers, fill-your-belly food, plus lots of local chatter! Dog and dirty wellyboots welcome, situated in the village of Norton sub Hamdon and walking distance from Ham Hill it is a corker, and shows what a village pub should be! Mark and Helen run a smasher of a pub!

Lovely, friendly (and dog friendly) pub, handily situated just of the A303, so we can stop off on our annual trip to Cornwall. Beer good, food great (the Sunday roast was excellent!). I heartily recommend it. Now for a little kip to work it off (I'm not driving, btw!).

We came here when it happened to be paella night, it was so delicious. A glass of sangria and tasty paella, my partner ordered the veggie chilli and it didn’t disappoint. Loved this food so much. Hospitality was 10/10 and staff were very attentive. Go here!

29 /7 / 23 - Friendly welcome - good service and an excellent meal enjoyed - a tradional country pub - you could be sitting in a set from Mid-Summers murders !

Love the atmosphere! A truly fab village pub! Welcoming to all - even my 3 energetic boys! Nothing is too much trouble and the menu choices are fantastic and reasonably priced! Love that the kids menu is not the normal fish finger and chips options caters for all tastes! Mine love the mussels! Love this place! Thanks Helen and Mark 🤗

The Lord Nelson is just an epic village pub. I have lost count how many meals/drinks/afternoons/evenings I have spent here. The two course set price lunch at £8 is exceptional value. The steak & Stilton ciabatta is my staple lunchtime favourite. Huge choice of food from main menu, specials. tapas, steak night and a wood oven for fresh pizza. Great live music most weekends. A proper locals pub, super friendly bar staff - not just for townies in tweed and mudless Hunter wellies.

Honestly one of the loveliest pubs ever. Everything you want from a traditional country pub - flagged floors, roaring fires, friendly locals, great bar staff who know what a large glass of wine actually is!! :-) Excellent menu choices- I had Duck with Cherries and Celeriac Mash and it was BLOODY DELICIOUS ... great recommendation from Mark the Landlord and Chef. Already looking forward to next time!
