We visited on 2 occasions, a lunch and a breakfast. Both occasions the food was great and service was brilliant. Staff were attentive and friendly.
For my lunch meal, I made 2 changes to the meal on the menu, which were both accommodated.
At breakfast, there was no alternative milk to cows, but that's the only down side.
Highly recommended this family run restaurant. Well worth a visit!

This is a little gem of a place. We called today for lunch. We both has fish, chips and peas with a slice of bread and butter and a mug of tea. Service was quick and friendly. Parking is right outside the main entrance. There is an outside seating area. Dogs are not allowed inside the restaurant. Prices are reasonable, we paid £28.00 in total. They also do a pensioner's special for £8.95 two courses which looked really good value for money. The food was beautiful, the fish was white, flaky and sweet tasting. Lovely crispy batter with garden peas and chunky chips. Toilets are clean and there is an accessible toilet. They also sell alcoholic drinks. Not open after 4pm or on a Saturday which is a shame. We would eat here again.

Staff were so freindly and accommodating, my mother who has dementia only would eat a very small amount on a tea plate which they did for her. Highly recommended

Amazing service, all the staff are knowledgeable about the menu, the wine and the restaurant. My family were made to feel welcome and valued.
The portions are very generous and flavours rich and thorough. I had the white bait to start which was glorious followed by the steak, mushroom and ale pie. I am not joking I could have wedged open my bedroom door with it! It was massive but not over the top at all. I was full up and left feeling like a king.
Needless to say I also guzzled down a bottle of red. The American Merlot. Went really well with the meal.
Finally I need to reiterate how amazing the staff were. Those who served us were friendly and chatty in a natural way (no fakeness here) but also the staff that didn't serve us that were walking by etc always met our eye contact with a smile and aura of helpfulness.
Support your local restaurants people and remember to tip in kind.

First time visitors but will certainly return with family and friends. Food was certainly tasty, steak and kidney suet pudding reminded me of my nans home cooking! Good menu, ideal for older customers whom appreciate good honest British food! All staff very polite, restaurant very clean - we couldn't fault our experience! Keep up the great work

Absolutely heartbroken you guys are closing the restaurant 26th October. I have been following East Coast on Facebook for a few years and finally visited your restaurant in August. We were staying in Hemsby down the road. Hands down best restaurant I have ever visited. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough. They interacted with my little boy and kept smiling and waving at him when they walked past our table. Our food was amazing and very delicious and I loved the general atmosphere and family friendly vibe. The lady that served us even recommended some local places to visit for days out. Thank you so much and wishing you all the best. Hannah, Steve and Chester.

Unfortunately this place is closing down and up for sale.
The food is superb, their prices far, far, far too little, waitress who was excellent on our two visits said they're not making it pay after a the increases in utilities, business rates etc..... Put your prices up, you're too cheap. Cuppa tea £1.... Make it £1.40 nobody would mind, your standard English breakfast is a large one and £9 or £10 anywhere else. The OAP (and they've got more money than anybody else) lunch time special, two courses about £9, three course less than £12 with prawn cocktail starter and homemade apple pie dessert... £15 is still very reasonable.... C'mon, do the area a favour, stay open, bump up the prices, keep the same quality food and everyone's a winner.

Had a family meal here while on holiday. We booked a day in advance.
We received a warm welcome, great service, and equally great food.
If we're back this way soon, we'll be back again

Went for a catch up with friends. Absolutely lovely after being closed for a refurb. Looks lovely now and with a function room. Some of us went for the set pensioners menu others off the main menu. Everyone was very happy with meals which were well presented. Vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly served in individual dishes ( so much nicer). They were very busy but the service was great, helpful and friendly All in all great food at a very reasonable price and would certainly recommend and will be returning soon.

My late father was a frequent diner at the restaurant and was always full of praise for the customer service, the friendliness of the staff, the superb food and the excellent pricing. We as a family thought it would be very fitting (thanks Jan for the idea) to hold the ‘Celebration of his Life’ at the restaurant following his funeral. This was definitely the right choice. We held the celebration in the function room with a cold buffet being the choice of food. I am a businessman who has probably had more buffet lunches than I can remember over the years and I can definitely say this one is up there amongst the best I have ever had. The food catered for all tastes, was homemade, was plentiful and nobody missed out on any of their choices of what food they liked.
Thank you everybody at the East Coast Family Restaurant for all the hard work and service you put into the day, it was really appreciated by the family and we would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the restaurant as the place to go for that special function whether that be a happy or sad occasion.
