Review Al Dente - Norwich

04.10.2022 My first time here. Popped in later afternoon for a coffee with a friend. Had the restaurant to ourselves. Staff were very friendly and chatty. Still working (cleaning, making pasta, admin) although it was empty. Would return for a meal. They are online and available for collection.

Great service, pleasant ambiance, tasty food. Five of us had a drink, main course and dessert at a cost of about £22 a head. Service was efficient and friendly. Each dish had great flavours. The restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Very enjoyable meal. Late booking but seemed to be plenty of room which was surprising for a Friday night. Interesting concept where you can design your own meal by combining pasta, sauce and toppings. Lots of other great options on the menu and specials board too. Good value, friendly staff and cosy too.

I have been to Al Dente numerous times and always love it! Arguably best pasta in Norwich :-) Its a cosy restaurant with changing specials and we even had 2 for £11 cocktails. Friendly staff, best pasta, great atmosphere!

We both had 3 courses and drinks each, which came to under £50 and the food was especially good. The restaurant has a much nicer atmosphere inside than we'd anticipated and the service was just right. Top marks

Fantastic pasta. Enjoyed a delicious dish with fresh, 'al dente' tagliatelle pasta, crab meat, tomatoes, chillies and samphire, perfectly cooked and with great flavours! Friendly team and welcoming environment.

I have now visited Al Dente twice with my partner. It is fast becoming our favourite place to eat. The staff are very helpful, offering advice on dishes and specials upon being seated. The place has a lovely atmosphere and is really what I consider a hidden gem (it is to me, I had no idea about it). The pasta is amazing. By far the best Carbonara I've had in Norwich. Good selection of food and drinks and you can tell they use high quality ingredients. Looking forward to my next visit.

We popped in on the if chance of a seat and I'm so glad we did. Amazing service from start to finish, the food was dealt good, my girlfriend commenting it was the best pizza she has had, the pasta was amazing too. We're so glad we chose here as it was such a great surprise. Highly recommended!

Fantastic food and lovely staff. The antipasti board for 2 was beaut, and our carbonaras with pancetta and garlic mushrooms were perfect. We can't wait to take our families there the next time they visit Norwich.

The best pasta I have ever eaten, and my most recent visit was a top 3 meals of all time! The pistachio spaghetti and pistachio tiramisu are exceptional! Don't be fooled by the just-okay location or the fact that you can make pasta dishes yourself at home (trust me, their fresh pasta is a million times better than anything you've had at home) - this place is amazing and probably my favourite restaurant in Norwich / Norfolk

I have just had dinner at Al Dente for the sixth time or so - best Italian in and around Norwich. Their pasta is genuinely ridiculously tasty, it is the most authentic pasta I have ever eaten outside of Italy. Service is friendly, prices are cheap (plus you get amazing quality for your buck) and the food is delicioso. Truly recommend trying it. I went in by chance the first time and have been returning for the superb authenticity of their Italian cuisine ever since. PS - Bocconcini (specials menu) Trust me, they are to die for.

An amazing little gem in Norwich. We went last night for the first time but will be back lots definitely! Everyone needs to know about this restaurant on St. Giles, it’s a basic food establishment there’s not much glam but the menu is out of this world!!!!! I have not tasted such delicious authentic Italian food outside of Italy, we are so lucky to have this in Norwich. It’s not all pre heated like the big chains, it’s fresh and tasty. The risotto cakes to start with were unbelievable and the meat balls were to die for. Our Italian waiter who was from Sardinia was the most friendly and helpful young man and just added to the Italian experience. Don’t be put off by the exterior or location this has to be one of the best restaurants in the city at this moment in time and the best prices too!

The best Italian food outside of Italy, perfectly cooked pasta and the most amazing pesto. A small but amazing selection of dishes, great Italian wines and just perfect espresso!! Great staff too all round a fabulous place for authentic Italian in Norwich.

Finally, a REAL carbonara in Norwich! Cozy environment, excellent staff. Adriano, Andrea, Borka, Lello and the others of this excellent Team know how to treat you with excellent Italian cuisine. I would unreservly recommend Aldente to anyone who wants to enjoy fresh food combined with the original Italian touch!

Superb personal service alongside some of the best fresh authentic Italian food I've eaten. Highly recommend if you want a lunch or dinner freshly prepared pasta and a great variation of sauces

A warm and friendly welcome with fantastic customer service. Always great, tasty food served just the way we like it. Would definitely recommend. We have been many times and it has consistently exceeded our expectations.

Went this lunchtime and it was awesome! The food was fresh and beautifully cooked. Staff were charming and friendly. Price reasonable considering fresh produce. The pistachio gelato is sublime and worth a visit for that alone. Definitely be going again.
