Visited a friend who lives in Norwich, mooched around the town and popped into this shop. The man who greeted me was amazing and very funny. Had a good old chat, bought some sausage rolls to take back to Kent and share with the girls at work omg they were amazing. The personal service goes such a long way and really enjoyed my visit to this shop, put a smile on my face. Thanks so much. :)

Hidden gem must visit! I love this place. The owner and folks working here are always so friendly and helpful. Delicious local food beautifully presented. A beautiful combination of cafe and local grocery store. Try the meat & cheese board, and the bagels.

What a find! Wonderful place selling local produce. Excellent wines, beers, cheeses, pies, breads, cakes etc. had a glorious smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel. Lovely relaxing space, especially at the back. In the summer heat it is a wonderful place to unwind, almost like a Spanish tapas bar. The owner, Alan, is a friendly and amusing, and he has delightful young staff who are attentive and knowledgeable. Cannot fault the place. Deserves 5 stars on all counts, especially for introducing me to the truly incredible St Giles gin. The navy strength stuff is a winner. Interesting selection of punters too. My only “gripe” was that it is not open longer hours, but I can see that later closing might attract a boozier clientele, although I scored pretty highly in that department. 🤣. Get yourself over to this great little place in the tranquil corner of Upper St Giles. [Alan is the cheque in the post?? I am joking. When I like a place I am very happy to plug it. And this place is a gem.]

Had a lovely coffee and generous slice of cake in here after wandering around Norwich. The cake was delicious, the atmosphere very welcoming and relaxing and the owners really friendly. A real gem of a place which, now I’ve discovered it, I will definitely be coming back to.

I first went into St Giles pantry some months ago while my wife was looking in a nearby furniture shop. Standing outside looking in at the wonderfully evocative array of cakes and pastries, the owner came out to chat. Neither pushy or overly solicitous, we had a brief chat and I decided to go in and try one of their pork pies. I've been hooked ever since - not on the pork pies, which are wonderful, but on the general atmosphere of bonhomie, which I thought had long disappeared from modern life. Go in, say hello, and be prepared to be transported back to a time when people had time for each other. You'll be glad you did.
