Lovely food, fab service. We came in on the bank holiday Monday, when it had been super busy all day. Despite this, the staff were all still super friendly and the food arrived quickly and was lovely as always. I had the scallops on saffron rice for starters, and the cod loin with crushed potatoes, fennel and a lobster sauce for mains. I'd had both before and they didn't disappoint. Then we tried the new chocolate brownie martini for dessert, and that was really nice too. It came in a martini glass with lots of delicious warm chocolate sauce. The brownie was lovely and gooey (and warm!) and the vanilla chocolate complemented it perfectly.

Brilliant. I couldn't fault this pub. It has an excellent setting, the service was really good, the food came out quickly and it tasted wonderful. If you look at my reviews, you'll see that I'm a keen walker and I eat in pubs a lot. I live in Surrey and mainly eat out in Surrey pubs. If this pub was in Surrey I'd be in there every week. While we were at the Ship Inn, I had haddock, chips and mushy peas with a pint of Guinness. It was all very much " pub food", but definitely cooked with love and everything I consumed can easily be done badly. The pub offers restaurant style dishes, as well as traditional pub grub and I would assume that all are equally well prepared. If you are anywhere near Voss Mayo, go to The Ship Inn, you won't be sorry.

Wow this place is beautiful the food was absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere was very warm, welcoming and accommodating. The waiter even gave us some bate from the kitchen so we could take the kids crabbing . What a great idyllic place . Next time we visit we will most defiantly be back

We were a party of 10 ( plus 2 dogs!) The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The staff were warm and professional. A lovely evening (even though the tide was coming in fast!)

Such a beautiful pub on the banks of the river Yealm. We went for dinner and was easy to book over the phone and the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. The staff were extremely helpful and made us feel welcome. Definitely worth a visit.

Wonderful multilevel atmospheric pub with great pub menu but done really well! Was busy on a Monday evening which is always a great sign!!! Expensive but not overpriced given location and general cost of eating out now!! 4 real ales including 2 from Noss Beer Works. Highly recommended.

Legendary waterside pub in one of Devon's most iconic villages. Narrow lanes sometimes make it difficult to get to, but it's worth the effort. Beware, the car park is TIDAL... so check tide times or park elsewhere.

Quintessential Devonshire pub - nautical history adorning the walls creating a cozy atmosphere. The food is exceptional - delicious and great value. The standout feature is the staff - Amy was enchanting and Neil gave all the background to the local ales. Highly recommend.

We came here for dinner with our friends, and I was thoroughly impressed. The food was lovely, the staff were lovelier and the setting was beautiful. You'd be hard pushed to find a better venue in South Devon.

Ideal stop on a circular walk around the Yealm estuary and SW coast path. The Ship Inn was a welcome stop for a fabulous lunch for 2 weary walkers plus dog. The trio of potted fish starter was amazing and enough quantity to keep us going. Highly recommended. Just popped in again a few months later and stand by my comments above. Lovely welcoming break after another circular coast and riverside walk.

Ample outside seating although it did fill quite quickly. Idiclic quaint setting beside the waterfront, watching the small boats and kayaks go to and fro. Wonderful food, presentation and service. There is parking but I'd be careful of the tide times....

Fantastic lunch experience at The Ship Inn. Staff were really friendly, professional and attentive, food was excellent, good portion sizes and recently priced. Nice decor, furniture and environment, just didn't give it 5* as we had our lunch later and most people had left, but not the restaurant's fault! Nice location in a quaint village. Would highly recommend.

Called for lunch with friends . As we were eating out in the evening we chose from the starter menu for a light lunch All three choices were superb and served by a very enthusiastic team . Certainly will be returning to this excellent pub again

Whilst on my grand tour of the world, I visited family over in England. Whilst I was in for quite the shock with mushy peas, I was pleasantly surprised. Slightly minted, the mushed peas were a great supplement for coleslaw. On top of that the fish was fresh and delicious with the batter being evenly applied. Even the tarter sauce was nice which is a rare occurrence for me. However, my let down was brought with the chips. Whilst evenly cut and cooked, they were quite bland. Over all a solid 8/10 would fish and chip here again.
