I visited with my friends for a lovley afternoon tea. We were all so disappointed with the amount of food you were given for four people. One small sandwich each. Half of scone each, ect. For the price we were all so disgusted. We even told the staff how disappointing this was. They just said sorry about this. We will not be visiting here again.

My daughter took me to this cafe for their Gluten Free breakfast on Christmas Eve. It was truly the best GF breakfast I’ve ever had at a cafe. 10/10! Nice ambience too!

This is my second visit to Basilia for breakfast. You are unable to book and it being christmas eve we had our fingers crossed but there was no need to worry... We got there just in time and there was a table spare. I bought my mother here as I knew it had a good gf breakfast and we were not disappointed... Whilst there are slight alterations made to the traditional engliah breakfast the substitutions included halloumi which for me is a winner! The staff, were incredibly friendly and make you feel like you're part of the family. Good quality food and a fantastic atmosphere!

Had the most amazing time at Basilia celebrating a 70th birthday. Couldn't of asked for anything more. The festive afternoon tea was beautiful, catered for everyone's needs including Gluten Free. Staff brilliant and the atmosphere was fab. Would definitely recommend.

Just had a fantastic 70th birthday afternoon tea for my mum at Basilia. Catered for 15 people with all different dietary needs. The food was out of this world and the staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough to make it a very special afternoon for mum. Thanks Basilia!!

Just had an amazing festive tea with my wife and her parents. Wanted to give them a little Christmas treat and this was recommended by a colleague, I'm delighted to say we were not disappointed. The food was fabulous and the staff were lovely. Thanks to all for a wonderful afternoon. We will be back before Christmas to buy some of the lovely produce you had on display.

Myself, my Mum and Mother in law attended the Christmas wreath making evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. The festive afternoon tea was delicious with plenty of food for us all. I especially loved the quirky little pigs in blankets on a stick with a stuffing ball - yummy! The Christmas wreath making was run by an external provider and was equally fab. The ladies were lovely and really helpful. Lots of products to choose from and help and guidance given throughout. The little gift bag as we left was a lover touch. The evening was worth every penny and I would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of giving it a go. 3 hours flew by! Could have stayed for 3 more, loved it and will definitely return next year! A new Christmas tradition I think! Huge thank-you to the Basilia team and the team from The Little Flower Shed.

Fabulous evening. Excellent festive tea and a really creative well led Christmas Wreath making activity.

First visit here having heard good things about it. It gets extremely busy and seems to be very popular with locals. I tried to book a table, but they only take bookings for more than 6 people. There's not a lot of space so be prepared to wait for a table. The staff may also ask if you are happy to share a table with others to try and speed up the waiting time, but there's no pressure to do this and the staff are very friendly. Parking is fairly easy on the road outside or the various side roads. There is a good range of breakfast and lunch options, all freshly made and reasonably priced. I enjoyed the festive panini with salad and coleslaw for £6.50. Probably the best thing about Basilia is the massive range of cakes, which are all temptingly displayed in the window as you walk in. You won't be able to leave without trying one or taking one home for later. I would definitely eat here again and highly recommend a visit.

A trip to Basilia is always a challenge...what to choose from the delicious menu! The food is freshly prepared and beautifully presented, be it a full meal or coffee and a cake. Add to that a lovely deli counter and bread and cakes to take away, what's not to like? A lovely family run independent business that serves great food and nurtures community spirit!

Our meal of toasted ham and cheese panini with salad was nice, there is not a lot of space in the cafe and the tables for two are so close we felt we where sharing with the other two people. We bought some cakes to take home they where also nice, I think everything is very pricey for a back street cafe.

we called in very early on a Saturday to find a lovely cafe just opening but full of friendly staff. We went for the Egg Royale and the Basil Benedict, both were cooked to perfection and presented very well with poached eggs to die for. All washed down with an excellent cappuccino and a decent pot of tea. Highly recommended

Having read such good reviews we decided to give it a try for ourselves. Basilia is both a delicatessen and a cafeteria. The cafeteria was very busy and we hadn't booked but luckily got a table for two. The ambience is very good and there was the air of continual conviviality. What was noticeable was the number of regular customers which, in itself, is a good advert for this establishment. The menu offers a range of hot and cold options, mainly snack type dishes, although there is the option of steak or steak and stilton pie. My wife opted for a jacket potato with tuna mayo filling and I had a bacon and brie panini with chilli jam filling served with salad and coleslaw. Both meals were delicious and beautifully presented, and surprisingly filling, although we did manage to squeeze in a dessert from the tempting selection on offer. Service throughout was excellent, staff very friendly and smiling - you were made to feel welcome. It's safe to say that we will be joining the band of 'regulars'. One tip - tables are mostly set to seat two or four people. If there is a group of you it might be as well to ring and book in advance.

Great place for lunch. We go every couple of months or so. Can be hard to get a table as it does get busy but worth waiting for a table to become free. My wife always has the Brie and chilli jam Panini which come with salad and crisps. I tried the gorgeous mushroom soup. Great selection of UK and European cheeses to take away. Veggie burritos are worth taking home too. If you are bored of the coffee shop chains try this place.

Came for afternoon tea and Halloween afternoon tea with our 4 year old. The child one was wonderful and at £5 I was highly impressed. Adults one was £11 each which was good. I'd of preferred one less selection of cake and have one full scone each. Beautiful little cafe. Quirky and clean. Deffo returning here.

Absolutely first class food here and the staff can't do enough for you. I visit this place on a regular basis for breakfast and dinner. It's a very popular place and there's always someone to talk to. It's always clean and tidy. They also do take away food and drink for anyone wanting a quick bite in there lunch break.

Suzzane and I went to Brasilia yesterday for some brunch. There is always a warm welcome from all the staff. I was looking forward to their porridge however the breakfast menu had finished but as soon as they found out it was our 1st wedding anniversary (from Suzzane) they didn’t hesitate to do a bowl of porridge with strawberries, raspberries, bananas, grapes, black currant, yogurt and honey. It looked and tasted beautiful. Suzzane had a fish platter that she said was fabulous. The cakes look amazing too. I highly recommend that everyone reading this should visit the Brasilia! Jackie
