I shall definitely be revisiting this beautiful tea shop. I had afternoon tea for my friends birthday and all the staff celebrated without asking singing and making us feel so welcome. It felt like we had been before and new the staff already!! I would highly recommend there excellent afternoon tea. It was presented so lovely and fab value for money as I left absolutely stuffed!! I visited here today with my friend and her 6 year old son after reading reviews and planning to check it out for months! We were welcomed by the lovely lady who owns it - Ila. The decor and ambience in this tea shop is amazing and nothing like any other I've ever been too. There's a nice enchanted, magical feel about it and it has such a homely feel to it. We opted for the afternoon tea and what a great choice we made. The food was delicious, even the crockery and cutlery that they use is just right and fits perfectly with theme. Such a lovely place to dine with a brilliant service from all staff there. I will definitely be visiting again and highly recommend others to do the same. The staff here are so lovely and really couldn't do enough for us- party of 10. The afternoon tea is delicious with a nice selection of sandwiches, scones and fruit cake. All this is such a quaint room with a vintage feel. Would definitely recommend for a relaxed afternoon.

Absolutely loved this little cafe when I visited at the weekend. The staff provided hot drinks for the search and rescue team that I volunteer for and kept us going throughout our fundraising day in the town centre. The food and drinks that we had were just fabulous and the staff were so lovely and friendly too. I highly recommend this beautiful little cafe... Thank you for looking after us! Xx

Always have a lovely time at Ilas. Ive never eaten anywhere where someone has made me feel more welcome, relaxed and at home as I have today. The food is tasty, all super fresh and with good choices. Stepping inside is like walking into a dream world. Its quaint and quirky and i love it!

absolutely fantastic little place . myself and my 2 daughter's went for afternoon tea as it was by eldest daughter's birthday. ila made us all so welcome. the food is amazing and so much of it. we were full to bursting . it's the best afternoon tea I have ever had. beautiful. well done Ila and team . we'll be back for sure xx
I was treated by my daughter to afternoon tea on mothers day . It was our first visit and it definitely won't be our last the food was great , Lla is a lovely warm lady and the little tea shop has a happy relaxed atmosphere. We will be back x

This little tea room is absolutely wonderful. I was in town with my mum and we are always looking for somewhere to have a sit down and have a cuppa. The welcome we received from the owner and her staff was amazing the coffee and lunch was to die for. On leaving the shop we received a farewell hug. Thank you for the wonderful time in your shop.
My mother and i always went passed the tea room but decided to give it a try and its such a cosy warm welcoming place. The staff were lovely and polite, as my mother had a bit of tooth pain, she wanted something that wasn't going to cause pain and saw on the menu that it served soup. The waiter who took our orders, mother asked what soup it was and responded "stilton and broccoli" the waiter asked what bread option she would like, took my order which was a cream cheese, cucumber and mint sandwiches, again asked which bread i would like. As we were waiting i noticed that there was an award for this year on the wall and it was nice to see awards for staff with their Food safety certs too, food came and was really really good, all fresh and local too, overall, its definately a little gem and will be returning too.
Traditional old charm brtish tea room , serving high quality home made cakes and savories , all made to a very high standard at prices that are reasonable . Decor inside is breezy and light , and the tea room is cleaned to a good standard , WC was very clean . Staff were very friendly and polite , and were very nice. Although this is a tea room selling various types of high quality tea's , they also have a good high quality coffee machine , and it does make a great americano !!!! . This place is tucked away in a quiet lane in the heart of the city , but it's not far from all the city has to offer . Perhaps you may not even know this place is here . maybe on your hard earned staff break !!! you might want to treat yourself or a friend to that special breakfast or lunch . Highly recommended by locals and tourists alike .
Thank you so much for your help this morning. My friend was having a diabetic hypo and they gave her a glass of water and a chocolate bar. We sat and had a cup of tea. Can’t praise you highly enough. Bless you we will be back.
