This was our favourite place to eat Indian food when we lived in Nottingham in the 1980s. Our last meal here was in July 2019 and we had hoped to have an anniversary meal here on 17th October 2023 but it was "closed for a revamp". We are very much looking forward to our next visit!
Service is very good and food was so delicious, mouth watering and freshly cooked.
Have just eaten out here with a friend for my birthday. I love curry and used to eat here when I lived in Sherwood. I had forgotten how good Saagar is. The food tonight was mouth watering. We could tell it was freshly cooked as you could taste the fresh ingredients with every mouthful. The service was friendly and courteous. I've eaten here before and was not disappointed tonight. My friend had never been to Saagar before and said it was was one of the best curries she had ever had.
We visited this establishment tuesday 17th january !,we brought our dutch friend for the first time ! everything was outstanding ,the young lady was lovely and looked after us all night ! The food was delicious and prepared to our liking its also had a makeover since our last visit i would highly recommend it to anyone x we shall be back x

Pleasantly surprised that the food on my recent visit was a huge improvement from my previous visit some years ago. It really is of a very good standard now, and value for money. If you're drinking around Sherwood with a curry planned for the end of your night, this is your best option. I believe there is only one other nearby, however it doesn't serve alcohol and takes a more 'modern' approach to the menu, meaning that standard favourite curries aren't available. Stick to Saagar for traditional British Indian dishes.
We have just finished one of the best takeaway meals that we have ever had delivered. Great portion sizes - not too much, not too little; everything piping hot, extras that we didn't expect, all delivered within seconds (literally) of the forecast delivery time. This top rating is very well deserved, thank you Saagar in Sherwood, we will certainly be back.
Attentive service and very tasty food. A few more veg in the vegetable curry would have been nice, the same with the meat in the meat dishes, but overall a very pleasant evening.
