Excellent delicious food. Mixed grill was great. The calzone was so tasty and huge. Great ambience and customer service!!!

We booked a table and arrived. We waited at the door to be seated after a few minutes. What would of been nice if they acknowledged us arriving. After a few minutes we sat down and then waited for another 5 minutes for our menus and they taken our drink order. The starters of king prawns (only 3 in the dish) was tasty and my husbands meatballs (only 3) was tasty too but for £8 each I would of expected more. Waiting for the mains, a lady came in screaming asking for her takeaway money back which did have an impact on the whole of the restaurant and customers. When the mains arrived I had the fillet steak with Diane sauce and to be honest the steak was nice but a little under cooked for my liking as it was quite thick. The sauce was tasteless and it’s served with for what I think is frozen veg and frozen wedges which you only get 1 side per main so we shared ours and For £21 I would expect fresh veg. My husband enjoyed his steak and sauce. We decided to leave after and we received an apology for the screaming lady and from that happening I would of thought we would of received a discount as it did put a damper on the whole experience. The other thing we didn’t like is the ‘just eat’ delivery drivers just walking in through the restaurant which was annoying. I’ll go again to try the pizzas and pasta dishes. The waiting staff are lovely and it is a beautiful restaurant. Only lost 1 star due to the screaming woman, my steak dish and the delivery guys.

My husband and I went to La Mensa to celebrate our wedding anniversary last night. The food was delicious and the ambiance was lovely. The waitress was efficient and very welcoming.We will definitely be returning soon.

This is the second time we have been to this beautiful restaurant. The first was magnificent, the second was absolutely magnifico x2. All I can say is these people know how to deliver a true Italian meal with the ambience around you too. No fuss just pure authentic foods which I’m glad to have on my doorstep. Thanks guys. If it’s great Italian food your looking for then go to La Mensa. Nine of us booked in for my birthday and we all enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and very comfortable surroundings. Excellent.

We came in for a late sitting, we didn't pre book. We were welcomed in ( even though most people were finishing their evening). La mensa to the rescue after a ghost tour in Nottingham. Beautiful food, fantastic atmosphere, reasonable prices. Food was served fresh, was great to see an open kitchen. Was surprised to not see this busier on a Saturday night! I thought a good review would help share the love. Will definitely spread the good word to friends.

Extensive menu, fresh ingredients, friendly staff, draught beer, wine list and be warned - generous portion sizes. I had the meatballs for starter and then a calzone - it defeated even my legendary appetite. Highly recommended - eat local and save your high street business
