Well, what can I say, I try not to be negative in reviews but can’t help myself. The basic ingredients are there… friendly staff, efficient and accommodating, level pitches, EHU, drinking water, activities field, dog walking field, fishing lake, cafe up the road (some days) pub a 20 minute safe walk away lovely. BUT….. So many rules! Signs everywhere, don’t do this, must do that. If you walk your dog on the field you must go the right way around, visitors must pay to get in (really!). Felt like I was in a correctional facility at times. AND THEN… The toilet block… The facility is cheaply constructed and maintained in a rather dark and out of the way old brick out building. Such a disappointment for a medium sized £35 a night site. Clean thankfully (hopefully), but paint missing from doors and slipshod wall coverings while one urinal tray, 2 showers and 2 toilets for all the men on the site is woefully inadequate… not even a toilet brush in one of the cubicles (are we supposed to share?) so you can imagine the rest. There is an Elsan point but it’s about as far away from the majority of pitches as possible and not accessible by a motorhome, and nowhere advertised on the leaflet handed out to show where grey water can be disposed. Ramshackle is not an unfair description of the whole site. Dilapidated outbuildings, piles of pallets and various bits of machinery lying around with an adjacent compound full of weeds and algae covered caravans. It’s the cost that makes me so negative. For £35 a night my expectations were much higher. There’s one last thing, another rule, use more than 10kw of electric a day and you get billed at an undisclosed rate, but quite how that will be measured baffles me. I will not be back.

Brilliant camp site with good facilities, we attended a Pagan celebration for the weekend as the campsite is large enough for big events. The pitches are flat and well spread out with plenty of EHU points as well as grass off grid pitches.

Upton barn is a beautiful place to stay. They are aware of All the current situations in the world and so its a great place to be able to chill out and speak freely about anything you wish. The barnyard comedy club was really great and we will be back again very soon for the next one. Burger van serves lovely burgers and other meals .the fishing lake is lovely and seeing the baby ducks and geese is nice for the kids. It's a very relaxed atmosphere with brilliant basic facilities. Showers are good hot water and nice larger than average cubicles. The bar is well stocked with all your usual tipples and there is usually music playing (not too loud to disturb the site) and sometimes live music. You can even book some healing treatments.

First time away with our Caravan and we have just returned from a fantastic week at Upton Barns. The site is nice and clean and the staff who work there are friendly and do a great job. We met some lovely people there who were also staying and will definitely be returning and hoping to see them again. Certainly worth a visit and don’t forget your fishing rods! 🎣 🐟 😎

Stayed a night here as part of a motorcycle weekend away with mates. 5 camped and myself and 8 others used the B+B. They could not of made us feel more welcome. They have their own bar and restaurant and their prices are very reasonable. Evening meal was excellent, as was the huge breakfast. Definitely going back there

Nice site with plenty of space, the bonus of a fishing lake if that's your thing, and Joe's bar was excellent on weekend nights.

Absolutely love this place. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. Chris, Kirsty and the rest of the crew. A nice clean camp site. Fishing lake. And best of all the on site pub. Out side catering van for food. Bouncy castle in the pub for the kids. Our grandchildren love it here too. Well recommend you come and have a stay here. Thanks for putting up with us Chris. This is a fantastic place to camp, kids love it plenty for them to do, bar on site along with a barn that opens as a club with karaoke... Swimming pool, it's a bit dated but the kids don't mind toilets are clean could do with a rebuild but your camping and not staying at the Ritz! We visit a few times a year as perfect for a quick weekend break x
