Lovely country pub, very cosy inside, well looked after. Outside seating also a beer garden in very pleasant surroundings. Publican very friendly and efficient, would recommend, we will go back.
Ideally located for a stop on a hike in the Churnet valley. Warm welcome, Bass on draught, cosy vibe, clean and neatly presented …. a most enjoyable interlude in a traditional pub setting; outside, water pours over the nearby weir, making for a relaxing environment. Ace.

Really welcoming, not only by staff but also people who live in the area and are regulars. Lovely pub, nice little garden and well behaved dogs are also welcome. In fact the dogs were spoiled rotten with many biscuits and a whole lot of fuss. Will definitely visit again when in the area.
Really nice welcoming pub, we just happened to be walking our dog in the area! We did ask before we entered if we OK to go in with a dog.... Not a problem... Lovely warm friendly pub.

Fantastic little place. Fantastic homely and very welcoming atmosphere, created by very friendly local people. No food menu but that doesnt matter if all you want to do is finish a lovely day out off with a drink and good company.
Such a welcoming local pub. Even the locals made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend for a cheeky pint and game of pool!
